I gather you'd take a stagecoach yourself? Prodding the fat bear is a fun pastime that I'll play along with if reasonable, but at least make some fucking sense.Noted.

Post some pics of the cajons! I haven’t gotten one yet...maybe I should build one!Good Morning!!
Drizzly ride in today...all cars participating in said commute were on their best behavior. 4 more days left here, and many folks have "consciously de-coupled" from interactions with me - not in a malicious way, just one of those "..Well, you're not going to be here anymore, so I need to start adjusting to your absence" kind of ways....that's so cute...
Drank a little Scotch and picked some tunes last night with the fellas - scotch was a ten year lowland Ardbeg that tasted much better than its mild decade of incarceration in a barrel would suggest. I've really been into building these wood cajon drums lately, so I brought a few of them to the session and they sounded really good mic'ed up.
Just frittering away the day...if you need me, I'll call you.
Not me! I’m not a scotch lover...bourbon thoughI approve this whiskey.
boil tree sap? what fer?Afternoon monkeys!
Subbed this AM, came home and made some fire to boil more sap! I was going to crack open a beer while I surfed the RM, but perhaps some warm whiskey is in order.
I'll snag a few shots...working on a lap cajon some this week. I don't know why I've been so obsessed with these things lately - some of the tones that can be made with these things are fascinating....Post some pics of the cajons! I haven’t gotten one yet...maybe I should build one!

We used to make it every spring when I was growing up (had ~12 sugar maples)... it was a lot of work when it came time to keep the fire burning to boil off most of the water... took days.that is correct.
DMT.boil tree sap? what fer?
Yup! We have anough sap for about a gallon. We booked a bit on Saturday/Sunday and today. It takes time but the fire is keeping me warm and I have had time to do some chores around the house too so win-win so far.I believe the general ratio is 40:1 sap: syrup

This honestly sounds like a really good time. I love cooking food out on my wood burning stove in the shed. I usually catch a good buzz too.Yup! We have anough sap for about a gallon. Well, drinking won.Snow is flying but roads are fine. Debating going climbing later before things get bad. But also considering starting drinking. I have some wood to split so that's kinda like exercise.

Don't worry about the ax, worry about the tomahawk.drinking and axes...what could go wrong?
This is my plan as well! Fine so far...sitting in the sun, by a fire, drinking a beer and reading a book at 2pm...I could get used to this!Yeah - we would cook outside for several days before bringing the sap in for the more supervised "final boil."
