If you have to choose again, which one would you pick now that you have ridden both? Though both very similar and good bikes.
You forget to mention you had your best race result EVER on the Cuervo though  :huh:Well, I ride the DHR and the Cuervo sits in the garage. Just personal preference, I live the livelier feel of the Turner and I don't really like the super ramp at the end of the Cuervo stroke much.
Is it 07? Medium or small? IMO the only part in my build which is heavy is fork, a 888WC which I won't trade for anything lighter soon. UST for me too, EX823, Hope ProII and Michelin front and rear. Formula K24 and XT or Hone cranks. At this point I'm convinced El C is a good bet as DHR, no doubt anymore. Everybody only say good things about it, and to my console handling and cornering is similar to DHR.Mine with tubeless is at 40lbs. And by far the best bike I have ridden to date. And by the way I'm a finness rider, I don't like the plow.

Yeah, Justin (Layton) has told me Andrew's El C weight, 43lb.i have andrew pierces last year cuervo, it seems to weigh about 43lbs.
Nice, very nice. In my case it would be Medium and some heavier parts like fork, bar and rim. I estimate 42lb
I was already convinced about El C qualities and how close it rides like dhr, my first option. But it's nice I still read good reviews like yours. It just makes me want it more.I have my pick of all the high end goods at our shop(Intense, Turner, Foes, Rotec), and the Ventana was the clear choice for those seeking a "real world" dh rig. Its not the lightest frame(~12lbs for a large with steel spring), but its quad bearing system holds up to the nasty way better then the dhr. As Luke Strobel's wrench, I've rebuilt his dhrs more times then I can count. The dhr works good when maintained, but its performance suffers when its neglected. The Ventana folks are great people who do everything in house and take pride in their products. When you consider all the factors: ride quality, geo, sizing, pivot/frame design & execution, availability, price, weight, etc., the Ventana was the last frame standing.
Nice, how do you like Roco, good match?Heres my El Cuervo. I've never weighed it, but I'd imagine its over 45.
Very nice. Just a little farting around with the settings, and it feels great.Nice, how do you like Roco, good match?
Negative. But the again, I never felt it made a huge differnce.Do you miss any platform like propedal for pedalling, sprinting?
Yeah it will rub.Looking at some pictures I've noticed how close ti spring rests near link inside seat tube. Does ti spring rub against link or is it safe, no contact?
I use a RCS spring spacer ($8) and this moves the spring away from the seat tube area to ensure no rubbing.Looking at some pictures I've noticed how close ti spring rests near link inside seat tube. Does ti spring rub against link or is it safe, no contact?
Thanks Scott.I use a RCS spring spacer ($8) and this moves the spring away from the seat tube area to ensure no rubbing.
That's quite the claim. Have you won master's world champs or something?I'm a finness rider, I don't like the plow.
Yeah these damn BMXr they always think they are better than us plowriderThat's quite the claim. Have you won master's world champs or something?
Do you like Gamut? I'm between E13 LG1 and Gamut P40.Heres my El Cuervo. I've never weighed it, but I'd imagine its over 45. The only difference now is I have a Gamut in place of the E.13.
Did you weight on race wheels? How do you like it for races?mine is 43 with creappy wheels and DH tubes. I will weigh it on race wheels. Keepin it for 08 gonna get painted.
Utah Pro Sean Richens and his Cuervo aren't so sure about thatDHR is lighter. More linear. Jumps better.
Sorry I missed your question earlier. For your weight I'd recommend a 500 lb spring. I'm 160 lbs and run a 450, but most of our riders bigger than me (or faster) are running a 500.Thanks Scott.
And what spring rate would you suggest for 176lb? Recommended sag is 30%?
No problem Scott. I may start with 450, Ventana and Fox suggestion. Depending on sag and riding feedback could go for 500 later, thanks. How much BO adjustment do you regularly use?Sorry I missed your question earlier. For your weight I'd recommend a 500 lb spring.
