Hmm. I see. I thought it was part of the maneuver on the bike.like a small step. after sprinting on a bike you don't have blood in the muscles that are needed for running so you have to take some baby steps to get the blood back in the correct muscles, otherwise, you'll buckle at the knees.
seriously...try it sometime.
you ever try chasing someone at a full gallop after your legs are fried from sprinting on the bike to get there? cyclocross dismounts are a few steps to get over obstacles and aren't usually at a full on sprint speed.
just trust me...it's really funny to watch
