He's a fire fighter. In Canada that is a better job than most pro mountain bikers would get, I would think.vanderhoek needs a pro deal
Watched that this morning. Got me rethinking my preference for Vermont. I always thought that area was more xc focused, but it seems they are developing their 'fun' trails a lot more. Could be worth a weekend trip this spring...Quebec doesn't suck
The Shanahan area of Vallee Bras du Nord gets a definite 10/10 recommendation from me, I'd say check it out.Watched that this morning. Got me rethinking my preference for Vermont. Yeah, that Full Neilson is what I'm weary of. A few of my buddies have been a few times and raved about it.The Shanahan area of Vallee Bras du Nord gets a definite 10/10 recommendation from me, I'd say check it out.
The nice thing about that particular area is that you can camp for super cheap onsite or rent a cabin/yurt. You have access to the river for swimming, there is lots of hiking, biking (everything from family friendly stuff to double black gnurrr), kayaking, via ferrata and whatever else is in the area. There is also no cell service, which is nice to be disconnected from.
Only downside is no dogs and you have to pay to use the trails, but that seems normal for most places in QC.
But yeah, a lot of the trails are xc'ish, in the sense that you need to pedal everywhere. Maybe you can call it enduro riding? Some trails, like that bigass waterfall or the trails beside it are what I'd call enduro - 260meter climb followed by a 260meter descent.
The "full" Neilson loop out there is a great day ride. https://www.trailforks.com/route/full-neilson-trilogy/
I've gone three times and would go again.

I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to say....Vermont is like A ball compared to Quebec....
Single A baseball compared to professional baseball.I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to say....
Yeah very true, gotcha about Vermont just being different.Yeah, that Full Neilson is what I'm weary of. A few of my buddies have been a few times and raved about it.
But the way I see it is I can do full day epic rides at home. If I'm going to drive for 5 to 6 hours for a weekend getaway, I'm looking for something different to. I love Vermont because the trails and terrain are different. What I really like are the extended downhills. I also like Vermont beer, and the quirky local culture.
All that said, I suppose I should give that area a try. Can't knock it till try try it. I especially am interested in the Sentiers du Moulin and that Area 57 (or whatever it's called) in the video. Those seem right up my alley.
Correct. Nothing here at all. Please not to bother coming.Vermont is like A ball compared to Quebec....
I guess it all depends on perspective. You're close to VT, and I'm close to QC (like, maybe 300 yards away). Familiarity breeds contempt?Correct. Nothing here at all. Please not to bother coming.
Interesting. Please carry on...not Vermont, but the riding I've done in N. New Hampshire and in the White Mtns. was stellar.
That has some bloody ridiculous stuff in it. The hesitation and fear is very real. Awesome vid.very much enjoyed this.....
not produced, no soundtrack, just like sessioning with your friends.

Haha! I wish I could argue that. I am definitely old. Now, get off my lawn. You know you're old when a conversation about cool trails turns into a discussion about parking
ooof, that's cold. I'm not really into riding when it's colder than -20°C (-4 freedom°). There's a whole world of riding out there that I've yet to explore. The only Quebec riding I have done was at 30 below F and I enjoyed it. I have a lot of stuff up there on my want to ride list.
Has this been posted yet? Seems they are approaching "the line"...That has some bloody ridiculous stuff in it. The hesitation and fear is very real. Awesome vid.
Riding level of those guys is so impressive. Wow.Just a simple huck video, too bad its not longer.
Those bikes are so quiet, especially the Demo. No matter what I do I still seem to have the odd clank and rattle. Obviously the reason I'm not as fast as those guys.More DH bikes in the enduro forum. Sorry.
DOWNHILL BIKES GOING SMASH! - Vital RAW
If you like the sounds of downhill bikes running over rocks and roots, then you're in for a treat. Joel Anderson and Toby Down go fast, take chances and get loose! The Norco is full 29er and the Demo mullet and the bikes are super quiet bikes, so you can hear the tires and suspension working...www.vitalmtb.com

Neey pahds? Nah theh fah pussies mayte
i've ridden all that stuff (ok, haven't actually attempted / cleaned ALL the lines, there's some fully gnurr bits in that zone), but to ride that ALL in one day - on a hardtail - is just badass (the required climbing alone...). i like the dude as a presenter, but he's earned xtra respect as a proper hard rider.A bit biased here cos I've ridden with this dude a few times and he's a mad bastard. A bit less action, but good skids and attitudes.
