Oh yesIn fact top 3 juniors all british - the rest of the world is in trouble in the next few years!
I am definitely impressed by the British program but things are changing in the US, don't count us out yet.In fact top 3 juniors all british - the rest of the world is in trouble in the next few years!
Wow. Excellent point. Thanks.perhaps a nod to the Palm when he was on the big S??
I wonder what Palmer thought about that?Wow. Excellent point. Thanks.
Sounds alot like the states. The hilarious thing is we don't even really "have" a program - everyone in the UK bitches and moans about the UK race scene constantly - courses not long enough, not hard enough, not varied enough. Problems with uplifts, only 2 chairlifts in the country, Forestry Commission saying any shuttles have to be run with seatbelts for all occupants next year, etc etc. We (feel that we) get very little from the licence money we pay towards British Cycling (£65 annually and then about £3 IIRC of each entry fee goes to them too). General consensus is that most of the money ends up being spent on the road & XC programmes. (But to be fair, we did do damn well at the Olympics last year!!)
But DH programme? Don't make me laugh, there is no programme. Just a lot of people who love the escapism (life sucks, remember? ) that racing DH gives them. Those 2 days every week where nothing else matters - love it
