Hey man! I ran 9 miles on the high school track this morning and smoked that shit. 6:48 pace. Sitting in my office now and feeling pretty tired from that run. Speaking of office, it is Wednesday "everyone on site" day and I am the only one in my department. lmao, like I give a shit.

I'm pretty sure I've raised a soulless beast. Haley just came downstairs and said that she has to wear teal today. When I asked why, she said it was because one of the 7th graders died. We hadn't heard anything about it, so I reasonably asked 'what happened?' Her response? "I don't know. She killed herself. I don't know why we're wearing teal; it must have been a color that she liked." then walked away saying something about I don't have teal.

Hannah if you look at wrong, she cries. Haley? Well, that.

edit: well, she's not totally soulless. She does have one teal shirt. It's a Senna anniversary shirt with an drawing of his car and helmet. She did elect not to wear that.

In the government office waiting to renew my passport.

When I drove up, there was a huge line at the door waiting to get it. By the time I parked and walked around the building I strolled right in - why wait outside like that when the place isn't even open.

Anyways, once I finish this up I'll probably swing to somewhere to get coffee and then go find a trailhead where I can sit in my lawn chair and work.

Ride night tonight, should be good.

Photography, bike ride, hub fell apart, walk home fix hub, bike ride, BBQ.
Watch said I've done 100 rides so far this year, and I still look like an albino sea lion.

I watched a movie called 'Levity' tonight, I've been trying to remember what it was called for 15+yrs, I remembered it being a good film.
Buuuuuut, it was pretty shit.

I am grumpy today. which is a shame caus' it's a beautiful day. could be because I woke up at quarter to 6. or that I'm in the office.

chatted with my son about possibly going for a ride after school today. that would be nice.

I'm lucky in that I live about a 7 minute bike ride from the place they actually make the passports. And it's between my office and home. I went to drop off my application earlier this summer on the way home, and the line up had about a dozen people in it. I said fuggetaboudit and figured I'd come back first thing the next day. I asked the Commissionaire when the least busy time is, and he said 7. I tried hard to get there at 7 (but I'm not a morning person) and arrived at 8:15. Good thing, caus' the place doesn't open till 8. friggin prick.

also, the next time I'll have to renew my passport, I'll be almost 60.

Do as my dad did and let them watch The Fly at the ripe age of 8 or something.

Horrified for life.
i was around that age when I saw that. bunch of other grade b horror / zombie movies that were somehow played mid-afternoon on public TV. return of the living dead II, Cat's Eye, etc. poltergeist fucked me up for a while too.

there's a bunch of old movies i want to rewatch / introduce to my kids. I was thinking about introducing my kids to jaws, but decided they weren't quite ready.

Two movies fucked me up at about age 8. Gremlins, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Alien is a great movie for the kids though.

I think I was 7 when my brother took me to the drive in to see Halloween. That jacked me up and still not a horror fan to this day.

Morning Monkeys.

I might play hooky tomorrow and go test drive cars I have no intention of buying. There is a 996 manual with 80k miles and a fresh IMS bearing 3 hours away. I've never driven a 911, so it sounds like fun. I can also visit 425 Motorsports and put my ass in the 20+ seats I can't decide on to go into whatever I do eventually buy. Then there is an S2000 here in town. I've been seeing S2000's with less than 50k miles sell on BaT for less than $20k and that just seems crazy. So I need to drive one and STFU.

Today is buying a blender at Costco day in support of the wife's crazy new diet. She knows she has my full support, it's just awkward when she has a limited diet and I'm just eating shit. But I have lost 6 pounds since my knee surgery, so that's good.

Pretty sure I recall Master and Commander being terrible. Lots of films in there you definitely need to watch. But the fact that you've not watched Band of Brothers is a crime.

Mods - please disable Toshi's account until he's watched all episodes of it.
