Your face.
Dan you're a weight weenie and you know it. I know you are subbing all kinds of parts on your cameras with Carbon and Ti. :D

I'm not whining, I'm pointing out bull when i see it. I was thrilled with a 40 pound bike, although i did expect it to be lighter. Of course, I could go the same route and put a whole bunch of unridable crap on my bike and get it lighter, but whats the point of that? Sounds like putting a spoiler and fartcan tailpipe on a 103hp civic. :D

I'm not against people trying to go lighter with their bikes...but it would be interesting to see a thread asking how much weight could the individual riders lose? Now you're talking about real performance gains....D
The funny thing is, now I am probably talking BS, but in my case anyway, I want to put wiehgt on [mysefl] and loose weight off the sled...

But the pics of the new sled are coming...

What is the point in replacing top of the line dependable parts, with top of the line questionable parts? Unless you just have money to blow and no good drug addiction?

It's a newb mistake, but just to re-iterate: Before you post or ask a question - try doing a Search first. This place has TONS of info on damn near everything - very useful.

No biggie.
:)

:
Well, yeah, but it looks like people came up with some great information about their rigs, and information does get outdated as technology improves. I really see no big deal in posting to see what people think this very day. You might get different responses based on who's looking at the forum as well. I just think its ridiculous for people to criticise other people's posts. Unless its non-bike related...that's what annoys me considering this site is called RIDEmonkey. :)

How are you measuring the head angle? I've always wanted to know how to do that.
Hit your local hardware store and get an Inclinometer. They are cheap and work great!! Get the bigger dial one like this:

That is what I use most of the time..Being the tool whore that I am, I also have a digital one like this:

but for shorter travel forks the dial one works better.

No, there isn't. XTR's don't come in an 83mm shell. Also it seems like you are just trying to make your bike less and less rideable. I could make it explode just by looking at it wrong. And it still doesn't weigh 35.5, you are full of **** and everyone knows it. If you really need me to I will go add up all the gram weights and prove you wrong.
