yeah, he was a character too.....
what about that dude who used to travel to races with Lars back in the day. He drove a molester van, had long black hair, smoked cigarettes like it was his job, and always listed 'toxic' as his sponsor?I say we start our own mountain biking hall of fame. I hereby nominate Dan Dickan, Chris Carleton, and PEX. And maybe Jon Mutiger too.
Lars said he rode a moto one day and was hooked.....that's was it, went out and bought 2-3 motos....."Toxic Bob Lapusnek"what about that dude whoused to travel to races with Lars back in the day. he was a trip.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAdude....mutiger is classic......i gotta get ahold of him....he moved to whistler and got married......last i knew, he had been racing 24 hour four man team harescrambles by himself with no team in semi pro class and getting on the podium.....that's impressive....
dan's ears are burning.....his brother got out of jail and lives with him now.....don't even get me started on that jive....hahahahahhahaah
we should all try and plan some sort of east coast reunion....get ahold of all the old school guys from a decade ago and all meet up for a raucous weekend at plattekill or mt. creek.......we could sling vodka soaked ground chuck at people
Now THAT was a good time. Security never knew what hit them.AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA
Oh man, that is classic on so many levels. We've gotta do that.
I think Mutiger is the only person I've ever seen do the funky chicken in the middle of their race run at a norba national. And maybe Jon Mutiger too.
I saw video footage of him going through yardsale, and I'm pretty sure it was faster and more out of control than any person to ever ride that section.AHAA...is there anyone here that didnt hear how sick his run was that whole weekend? God bless that dude
I actually heard he was back in Kamloops building custom concrete countertops and quite successful.I heard Dustin Adams is working on an oil rig.
and you'll both recall the words he blurted to the masses going through.I saw video footage of him going through yardsale, and I'm pretty sure it was faster and more out of control than any person to ever ride that section.
we're talking about sleeve head, right?and you'll both recall the words he blurted to the masses going through.
"FUHKUN SHIETUH"
That was without a doubt the luckiest, most random day of the dude's life.
dude, dan could ride about any section of course just about as fast as anyone on the course....sometimes faster.....the problem was linking it together.....he was a headcase.....the year he won mount snow was the one time he put it together and made it all the way down the hill and only crashed once....and you'll both recall the words he blurted to the masses going through.

I can see it all now ... Mutiger's display would consist of his original Karpiel Disco, a photo of him trying to convince Monkey that he deserves a set of Missy Giove's spare tires, and a pair of his sweat pants, bronzed for all eternity.I say we start our own mountain biking hall of fame. I hereby nominate Dan Dickan, Chris Carleton, and PEX. And maybe Jon Mutiger too.
and chris could be riding a goat with a don miguel burrito in hand?I can see it all now ... Hahahaha. I remember that. Read more about his greatness here - x post from Michigan site where these two dudes "worship" him:Second greatest Mt. Snow moment ever:
Dan Dickan standing course side at the Pro MtnX finals
In Jeans.
Spandex National Champion Jersey
Medal draped on neck
Alone.
For hours.
The only thing I'll ever give credit to the Dan for is not having fingers long enough to reach a set of brakes. As for skill, turning ability, agility, endurance, fitness, finesse...fugg!!dude, dan could ride about any section of course just about as fast as anyone on the course....sometimes faster.....the problem was linking it together.....he was a headcase.....the year he won mount snow was the one time he put it together and made it all the way down the hill and only crashed once....

Connorwhat about that red head kid that use to ask nonstop questions? east coast guys would know this...what the heck was his name?
^ Ya, I feel bad for forgetting mom and pops name, but hella nice people.
ya i didn't even recognize him there. that's awesome he's still riding. i'll never forget the time i was standing in the lift line at mt snow with a friend of mine and he comes walking up and just starts drilling gracia with tons of questions out of nowhere lol gracia was really cool about it and i remember seeing him go out of his way to say hi to conor later in the day.Bill and Alison. Conor is 16 now, all grown up and riding 20" bikes all over the place these days. His skills have improved by lightyears and he's is nothing like you all remember. over 6 feet tall, no longer pudgy, more polite than many people i know, sometimes has a full beard, is laid back and fairly quiet . . . pretty much the total opposite of his previous self.
this is from his bro's annual x-mas party, he's the redhead sitting behind me (no i'm not sitting on his lap, i'm on the arm of the couch. but yes i'm drunk and i have wine in my hair).
great kid, and probably the most generous family i know.
Ian,
Bonazzi, Mortimer, Jonnier, they all rode for sintesi at one point, couple other chicks too, but can not remember names.
We know what Jonnier is doing. Mortimer just visited Llanes in cali and works for BCF I think. No idea on crazy Bonazzi.
