*prepost note: those of you with lots cast on attempting to fracture the left by voting hilary can go fvck yourselves - also, I have no problems supporting Herr Obama*

Why is she still in? She doesn't have a chance of winning the spot on the ticket unless the superdelegates engage in some massive backlash against the populace, which has about as much chance of happening as Luxembourg does of becoming a nuclear power tomorrow.

Is it sheer narcissism? Misguided belief that somehow, she can pull a Rocky? Is the Democratic party still too vaginal to strike out against Bill and his bitches? Something truly sinister at work by the by-now-evil right wing of American politics? Media owned by large corporations that would love to see her or McCain in the hotseat for the next 4-8 years?

Your thoughts, please.

She has every right to.

Are you going to go to the Barack Obama Super Delegate Cock Chugging festival and man handle a shaft or two for the team?

I hope there are enough jobs to go around.

Because somehow, one lying, self-absorbed socialist weasel is better than the other two running for office.

At least Hillary never said I was bitter.

Gotta go, incoming sniper fire!

She's still in the race to show that the later states still Should have a vote. All primaries should be held on the same day for that Exact reason. Not that I'm a fan, But she is making a Huge point, IMO.

All knob pollishing she-beast jokes aside, here's what will most likely play out and why.

Last night was her chance to take over. She didn't have to take the delegate lead, which was impossible, but she had to win those two so she could say she's won three in a row and has the momentum. She would have been able to say that his weaknesses were starting to hurt him and that could be a slippery slope.
That obviously didn't happen. 16% in NC was a crushing blow and the jab which was IN went unnoticed (at least in the headlines)
So now she's almost done, but there are a few things left to do.
First, she has to stop attacking Obama. Her speach last night was evidence of that. Well done.
Now she has to both carry her fight for FL and MI throught the rules commitee, and allow Obama to end on a high note.
She can accomplish both of these things by staying in it though the Kentucky and Oregon contests where Obama is expected to win.
You see, she has become the champion for the distorted cause of FL and MI, so she has to be perceived to still care in order to save her political future. If people find out she only cared because she wanted to win, that would be damaging.
Also, she is projected to win WV convincingly. It would look bad for the party if she left now and then won a state. She's got to drop out after a loss, so she can help Obama.

She's fighting for FL and MI becuase those states would give her the delegate lead. She is down by about 150 and FL alone has 200 up for grabs.

It's obvious that she thinks the presidency is owed to her and she is getting pissy because the no one else thinks so.
I think she has a small (and smaller and smaller) chance to win the primary. However, leveraging that position is probably critical to her, and if she drops out, she loses whatever advantage she gains.

She is probably angling for VP, Bill for SecState, etc.

shhhhh... they're watching...

The reason is...

If she can ruin Obama and get McCain elected, then she can run again in four years. If she supports Obama, he gets elected, has a good Admin and his VP runs in eight years, she's permanently screwed.

All primaries should be held on the same day for that Exact reason.
I agree 100%.

as far as the ability to execute the Office, i would expect her to be more effective than barack. she's a more crafty & shrewd shape-shifter w/ crazy jedi mind skills. under scrutiny, barack shows weakness.

she's a fvcking machine who believes in her electability. plain & simple.

if it's likeability you want, vote for obama.

You know she has had a hard time managing her own campaign staff, with all kinds of turnover.

She might Machevellian but that's going to take you as far as the Senate.

Not to mention debt. She has been running one hell of a hefty tab not paying her own bills. Not the kind of fiscal responsibility I'm looking for in the office.

She doesn't have sh!t else to do.

That wasn't the point of the thread. This isn't a Clinton v. Obama debate. The point was that she has essentially lost, and is still in, hurting the left as a whole.

so no one is shocked by the accusation that she's trying to ruin Obama?
I guess that really wasn't news to me :p

She really belongs in elementary school. "If I can't have what I want, I'm going to make sure nobody else can have what they want either"

I wouldn't be shocked if Billary was on TV with a dead baby hanging from her jaws and fireworks shooting out of her ass, if she thought it would further her agenda. That bitch is crazy.
The sheer ego required to become a politician and especially the prez would drive you nuts. Any person running for that office is crazy. Bat sh1t crazy.

I busted up last week when Jon Stewart asked Obama:

"Do you think Hillary will still be running while you are having your inauguration?"

You're going to want to check your sources before making that claim. Even if they were counted, after last night, he would still have the elected delegate and popular vote leads. CNN and MSNBC have both confirmed that.

Apparently Billary hasn't been able to raise funds recently. She's had to use 4-7 million of her own money. Isn't that a sign that her popularity is decreasing?

Decreasing popularity among people with money to blow on a candidate maybe.

She is still popular with poor people. Her bad.

i may have to revise my stmt after reading this: the ugly truth why hillary won't quit

i like how so many pro-hillary types (alternatively anti-obama) are redneck racists, but no one bats an eye when obama routinely picks up 90% of the black vote in every primary

Wanna know why Hillary is still in the race?

Because there are only 77,790 votes seperating her and Obama thru today in the popular vote.

Basically a tie with Obama having a 0.23% of an advantage.. not a 'clear winner' by any means.

Total popular vote:
Obama: 16,486,789
Hillary: 16,408,999

Total popular vote when counting FL, which Hillary said wouldn't count, plus MI, where Obama wasn't on the ballot, and disenfranchising all of the voters/caucus goers from Iowa, Nevada, Maine and Washington since they didn't keep statewide attendance tally's
Obama: 16,486,789
Hillary: 16,408,999
Fixed it for ya. :lighten:

edit: popular vote, not counting Florida/Michigan, Iowa, Nevada, Maine or Washington - Popular Vote Total
Obama - 15,926,271 49.6%
Clinton - 15,215,367 47.3%
Obama +710,904 +2.3%
