Trail bikes, single crown forks and 6" rotors, definitely says downhill world championships to me.

That's a 7.875x2.25" vivid on there. There isn't a company there that makes a Ti spring in that size with a 1.5" ID.

Yep I saw the bike at a club race on the weekend. I'm fairly sure they are 32s, so only 140mm up front. the bike also has a custom remote lockout switch. remote lockout. He was pinning on it though.
Fabian could destroy that trial on a road bike, he's that good.

what bike is lopes using? the MOJO? i thought i heard he was gonna be riding a 7" travel bike...and the MOJO is only 5.5". Restickered Turner? or IH?
Mojo HD wich is 6'', though they could make it 7"

some of riders in a few of the course walk vids were HATIN' on the course hard. 2 in particular were basically wondering why they were there at all, imply it was a waste of their time.
I don't dispute that the course is the flatest all season, and probably the least gnarliest. But when you are a rider that's not even in the top 20 overall, or haven't done well at the other more "manly" World Cup courses all year, saying this course is beneath you or a waste of time is pretty douchey.

Lopes is on a custom 7" Ibis that will be shown off this week at Eurobike for the first time.

Being a full time rider of a Fox 36, I no longer race DH, I have to say that I think it's out of it's element at this level of racing. The Totem Lopes has is probably a better choice. That pic just makes the fork look tiny! Is it a Float?lopes and fabien talk about their short travel bikes. fabien on 160mm fork! audio straight from their faces : )

Listen look and learn. That is not a float and Lopes is not on a Totem.
I can't play vids at work so I can't listen. So I assume it's a Van?
dh dad, it's not a video, but it's a flash slideshow if that makes any difference. lopes rides marzocchi and i would think as a two-time world champion, fabien knows what he's doing. he indicates there is risk to the decision, but feels the reward is worth it.

If Fabien took up a part time job narrating documentaries I would watch a lot more documentaries.

Anybody besides me think Fabien, while French and therefore exempt from looking cool in a DH race, needs to sign with a different helmet company? He looks like an extra in a Tim Burton flick. Either that or he's should paint it neon yellow and get picked up by Wiffle Ball.
he's more than just sponsored by them - he actually had input in the design of that helmet. You could say French have very peculiar taste
I'm getting stupidly excited!! Course looks **** but the gear whore in me is having an awesome time with all these pics etc! It's even more exciting 'cos there is actually a choice of bike and every team is doing it slightly different!
just what i was thinking, love or hate the course its bound to be an interesting race with all the different bikes and tactics.
Also it's got to be said... again, Barel is the man in interviews etc etc, anything he says is always worth listening to intently!
eff yeah, esp compared to Gee's 'F#$k off mate, i'm tryin to scope biddies' attitude.
