if peat and minnar end up on full dh rigs in the final and fabian/sam/or someone on a AM bike wins... peat and min will feel stupid, i bet.

everyone racing has time to test out an AM bike.

I'm putting in my vote for this being the stupidest post on RM this year.

is HE really racing on a single crown fork?!?!?!?

is worlds gonna be at sea otter next year?....christ....
Yep I saw the bike at a club race on the weekend. I'm fairly sure they are 32s, so only 140mm up front. the bike also has a custom remote lockout switch. remote lockout. He was pinning on it though.

Fabian could destroy that trial on a road bike, he's that good.

Any info or pics on Rennie?
Has the training paid off? Is he fully recovered? Is he pinning it? Is he going to win?

some of riders in a few of the course walk vids were HATIN' on the course hard. 2 in particular were basically wondering why they were there at all, imply it was a waste of their time.

I don't dispute that the course is the flatest all season, and probably the least gnarliest. But when you are a rider that's not even in the top 20 overall, or haven't done well at the other more "manly" World Cup courses all year, saying this course is beneath you or a waste of time is pretty douchey.

dh dad, it's not a video, but it's a flash slideshow if that makes any difference. lopes rides marzocchi and i would think as a two-time world champion, fabien knows what he's doing. he indicates there is risk to the decision, but feels the reward is worth it.

Gee's Worlds Bike with audio from Gee and Mark Fitzsimmons of Fox Racing Shox. Get the details on the "Firm Up" switch...it's not lockout.

I don't understand why WC riders put their number boards behind their cables and then cut ugly slits and holes in it for them? I just mount mine on top - much simpler, much cleaner looking, and probably better aerodynamics!

Fabien means business. He was doing non stop laps all day. Some Aussie course marshall grandma commented, "That french guy certainly is taking things seriously."

Awesome shot!

And Granny is right. He is looking to lay the smack down!:)

Over your shoulder whispering
holy 48 tooth chainring....or something like that
"What?"
"Well, it's a chainring...and it looks like it's got 48 teeth...and...umm...there's holes in it."
"Oh!"

Anybody besides me think Fabien, while French and therefore exempt from looking cool in a DH race, needs to sign with a different helmet company? He looks like an extra in a Tim Burton flick. Either that or he's should paint it neon yellow and get picked up by Wiffle Ball.

he's more than just sponsored by them - he actually had input in the design of that helmet. You could say French have very peculiar taste ;)

I'm getting stupidly excited!! Course looks **** but the gear whore in me is having an awesome time with all these pics etc! It's even more exciting 'cos there is actually a choice of bike and every team is doing it slightly different!
