Yes, placing the rail up side down seems intuitively better. Still not a design I would by the first year if it was me but I think its cool from a business point of view for them to try.

the nucleon tst
The MSRP on this frame is $5530, which includes cranks, G-Boxx, Rear hub assymbly, and shifter. We can get a variety of rear shocks from Fox, Romic, Manitou, Avalanche, and Marzochhi. We can also build a complete bike for around $7500.

Like What? I can do a complete bike with the new Manitou Travis Trippl Ti, the New Revox and the rest of the components for $7500. Are you interested in a frame or a complete?

if anyhting the frame, but right now its way out of my pricerange
How much are you looking to spend? I have an old Nucleon ST ('03) which I just got back from Germany a few months ago. It has new powder coating (fire dept. red) and looks just beautiful. It is a large frame and will fit a rider 6' - 6.5'. I want about $2000 for the frame, gear box, and the custom made shifter I have. I also have a few used parts lying around if you needed anything else. Let me know. This frame still has 3 years left on its warrantee.

I also have a used MPire (silver anodized), size medium. I would like $1800 for the frame, rear shock (manitou swinger 6 way) and a wheel set.

What did you do for the shifter?
The shifter is the original Rohloff shifter, but i stripped the rubber grrip off the plastic barrel and machined an aluminum cover for it. It has knurling and grooves for replaceable o-rings. The overall diameter of the shifter was reduced to the size a little over the diameter of the ODI ruffian lock-ons are. This helped reduce arm pump and just looks cool also. I have had a few customers ask me if I could make them one, but the cost to do it would not be reasonable.

I call photoshop on that one:help:
Definitely no photoshop! The Free Radical hard tail frame is designed for 6-8" forks: forks shorter than 6" will mess up the geometry. The fork in the picture is a 180mm travel single crown Manitou Travis fork: the frame is totally balanced with this fork.

There's a bit more information here :

You might not want one when you realize that fork weighs 6.5 lbs!!!!! I don't know what crack manitou is smoking, must be good. I don't know many people who want a 6.5 lb 150mm fork. Single crown to boot. Is manitou expecting people to ride redbull on a 150mm fork or what? At 6.5 lbs, it must be DAMN STRONG!!
