Check oyut the rear shock mount, back by the tire! I bet that makes for a more progressive/rising rate feel. It looks to be a pretty tricky piece-attached directly to the shaft? No air shock compatability?

I saw an air shock on Peaty's bike in a pic in the pits i think.

I can't help but think the all black Boxxer looks like a stance kingpin! Noooo! Peaty's white/black however looks sweet!

That was the exact thought I had. The first picture I saw of the new boxxer was from the back without the stickers visible and it really did look like the kingpin.

Wow - computer has been on/off for a while so I've missed some things but THIS... very nice.

Two years ago, word around the campfire was that some pretty big changes were on the horizon for the Demo 8. Last summer this was re-confirmed, but still no protos in sight. It's rad to finally see what Brandon and the guys have been cookin'. They must feel like kids in a candy store working with Sammy and Brendog - if anyone knows how a bike should feel with the proper geo for racing - it's those guys.

The new fab techniques they are using to make the seat mast/shock tunnel look pretty cool. Looks very sleek - I dig it!

Cheers and congrats to Brandon and the boys at Spesh on their latest creation!

i dunno, but those two pics above seem to have many weld areas: seat stay to top tube: shock cage to down tube/BB area and top tube. Rear triangles definitely have welds. major difference is the shock cage.

So, given that by all accounts, it looks like a non-carbon frame, what's the Ultimate sticker near the BB for? Carbon, Alu: it dont really matter either way. It's the rider that ultimately matters.

It's "Specialized" sticker, not Ultimate

why are you idiots still discussing wether it's ALu or Carbon.

Let's just close this chapter.

1. It's been stated by people actually in Maribor that the bike is infact NOT carbon.
2. There are video's where Peaty and Greg are at the spesh booth joking about saying "i dont know what the big deal is, it's not even carbon"
3. There are visible welds.

So, can some of you mouth breathers just stop and talk about something else entirely.

So how long does that extender effectively make the shock now? does that mean a lower leverage ratio in your best e-spec opinions?
The extender dosn't alter the stroke of the shock for a given amount of travel. So no change in leverage ratio.:thumb:

Seems to me that Spesh could be using the extender to keep the progression curve "flatter" through the shock stroke as the shock angle wont change as much with a longer eye to eye length.

I have to say the new demo looks really good in reality
You like Sam's new bike therefore you are a fanboy! Wellcome to ridemonkey ;)

btw. Kinda nice to see them doing a new bike though I wonder if they do it because it will really have some advantages over the demo or only to drop the Fr fame that goes along with the name on all pinkbike forums ;)
