That's great! I've found the 2001 service manual, but the '01's are too different than the '03's. The '06 that you pointed me to is VERY similar. I'll tear down the fork this weekend and see if I can use the manual to help pull out the stock springs.

In it, it shows a stainless steel bushing that matches what I have. It also shows using a vice to get the bushing in. So I used my vice to get the bushing moved over as far as I could and then made some grab-blocks to safely and securely...
I took the shock off my bike but cannot figure out how to get the coil off the shock. I assume the axel bushing thingy needs to be removed somehow, but I'm not sure how. Do I need special tools to do that??

To measure the true TT, you insert a seat post and measure horizontally from the top, center of the HT to the center of the seat post, right? I want to compare your 22" measurement to my current bike.

I'm looking to build a <38 lbs. 7"x7" lightFR/all-around bike myself. My goals are very similar to yours (as far as weight and purpose of the bike) and see you're riding the large frame size. How tall are you? I'm 6'5" and wonder if the large Shova would fit me.
