4x qualifying just finished. nobles 7th, carney 9th, nelson 15th, milan 30th.

graves must've crashed.

UHMERICUH
Reading Boom Boom's Facebook, Graves rear flatted, Prokop double flatted and Boom Boom flatted too.

There is gonna a couple of interesting first heats with Prokop and Graves at the back of the pack. If Graves wants another rainbow jersey, he's gonna have to work for it HARD coming from the outside lane every heat. We will see how he deals with this mishap, since he's been on top all year without major incidents.

thanks. that's an intersting video.
I agree.

So much for DIRT Mags 'exclusive'....I kid.

Great to see Commencal step it up with internal cables and a simpler adjustable wheel base.

While I'm not in the market for a DH bike I am looking forward to see this new design trickle down into the 5/6" bikes they offer because that will be my next purchase.

As for WC predictions, its been said here before but Gee, Greg and Steve have to be favorites on this course and with their current form. Also, their experience in these types of situations and mental toughness is superior to the likes of Sam B and Brendan.

Though I'd love to see Sam H come through and smash the lot a'la old school Schladming days.

So why didn't you just say that in your first post - monkeyfcuker was clearly just making an observation. He even asked if you agreed or disagreed with his interpretation.

This is exactly the sort of thing that makes Americans easy targets to bash on ;)
Yep, timed runs Vs quali's, my mistake, can't deny that. My original statement (if you read it again) was purely that he was making some assumptions that he had no knowledge of. No agreement, no disagreement. The negativity comment was result of the Windham bashing (mostly from the UK).

It's funny, it's completely acceptable to call Americans ignorant and egotistical, but you make mention of something like tea and it's as if you dropped the N bomb. Cheerio.

Just a rider who's a fan and excited about the Worlds.

Timed practice counts as qualifying for Juniors, it dictates the starting order, for the Elites its just part of the head game...

4X is going to be awesome, the rock garden is crazy and there's only 1 or 2 good lines through it, and the best line has given a lot of fast guys flats. I was at 4x practice today and yesterday and saw TONS of flats, I'm really surprised more guys aren't running full squish bikes.

Word is that Smith had a minor off at the bottom of the course and lost a lot of time.

Niko is fast as Fu@k, you'll all see :thumb:

I walked the course on Wedneday and it was totally blown out, dusty, and loose, but they're calling for rain soon which could really help the track. Either way the racing tomorrow night and on Sunday is going to be awesome! Seeing it first hand is going to be wayyyyy better then paying $$$ for freecaster :weee:

Go to our facebook for 2 days of Intense Cycles images from world championships.

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Intense-Cycles-Inc/364069399181?v=photos

I am going off a tired head, but I think Julien was 7th in the 'timed practice' thing, Kovarik was 9th...Rory and Matt were top 30 or somethin. For our ladies, Emmeline was 3rd, Claire 6th, I think Mio was 8th and my wife Leigh had a massive wreck and was 20th (massive in regards to pit stopping on course for a while, she is ok).

Finally got cool tonight, rain coming, but the course needs it, badly.

Go check out the pics.

Any one else see Minnaar's new OGK helmet, looks D3-esque. Hopefully they will become more available now that Minnaar is gonna distribute them or whatever it is his new Global Racing company is gonna do with them!

Didn't even notice you mention tea, and couldn't care less about tea, or about anyone mentioning it in any light, sorry :)

FWIW I've not heard any Windham bashing - I saw all you US guys getting way over-defensive when a simple observation like "there didn't seem to be many people in the vid I saw" was made. That's not US-bashing, that's just an observation, fishing for some facts from those monkeys that were actually there because we're excited to have a WC in another country again and hope it happens again next year. USA is key in helping the sport grow, I realise that, and I'm sure all UK monkeys do. And for what it's worth, I've no "problem" with americans :)

Oh and for you canadians, check out steve smith in timed practice. Only 0.1 down on Minnaar at the 2nd split, must've crashed/stopped at the bottom somewhere.

Sounds like the 4x course would have suited Dan Atherton if he was able to ride. Such a shame he's out. Hope he heals up quick.

With the rain about to come down it kind of makes the timed practice times null as I'm sure all the lines will change and of course there are the wet weather specialists....Maybe Kovarik could get some of that form from yesteryear? Big old high speed courses like this suit Steve Peat perfectly and he has said that he hasn't approached anywhere near race speed yet in his practice runs. Gee and Greg are the obvious 1 and 2 spots, which order is anyones guess. If Smith can stay on the bike and pick his speed up at the same rate everyone else does it sounds like he's going to be on the box for sure. Gwinn has got a good chance of podiuming I reckon.
My estimate for top 5 is:

1. Greg/Gee
2. Greg/Gee
3. Peat
4. Blenky/Gwinn
5. Blenky/Gwinn

then the rest of the top 10 rounded out by a combo of Kovarik, Smith, Beaumont, Fairclough and Hill.

How's that for a totally non comital review?

Well, if you XC tires in a gravity event, that's going to happen. I think it's good to see a rough course where flats are a possibility. Bring it on.

I concur. Last year the time zones worked well for doing that here. This year start is 11am for me. :(

By some comments in this thread, am I to assume that the later replay is a) free and b) fairly complete, as opposed to just the top 3 runs as is often the case for Freecaster?

I'm wondering the same. Even if the A/V on the replay is always out of sync (at least on my computer).

Yeah, I'm not sure where people are getting this idea. Everything I read earlier in the year said that the replay was the same price as watching it live. You pay one price and you can watch it live, later . . . whenever.

Paying for the feed gets you Live access, and replay access later. Don't expect not to have to pay for the replay in a week when it finally comes up

Yeah that was certainly the case for Windham for me - audio led the video by about 5 seconds, quite annoying! Tried watching the 4x re-run too and that had NO audio for the 2nd half of it. Didn't bother.

Saw him crash in the last wooded section (about 15-20 feet of woods) before the finish. He had a sick run going, was easily going to qualify fastest at the point. We hurt is shoulder but I don't know to what extent.

Why would it be free for you in Canada? Where are people misreading that it is free? Ever since the first race of the year required payment, freecaster has said World Champs will not be free, all season there have been ads before every race to get your access code. Did you think it was going to change the day of racing after being that way all season?

Like Dhracer said, it's been mentioned many, many times that it was suppose to be free, and from people that have something to do with the coverage.
