very smooth hot rod.
Your ground lowers look way smoother than mine. Did Brad have to repaint the lowers? I was to lazy to repaint mine, so I attempted to use a paint marker, but it didn't match browns exactly.
I'm tempted to re-do mine now that I see yours and other people doing this more as well. I remember starting threads on the net about this last season and everyone ripped me a new jazz over the subject, like I was shifting on their bible or something... now if I could just speed-hole the stanchions somehow... haha. :twitch:

Sweet !
The lowers look good all painted up VAS
Did you a pic of them raw and polished up like i sent em ? I rushed out to UPs soo fast I never got a pic of them after I finished up ,
the brake tab area looked sick with the tabs ... erased off as they looked . I was very proud of my grinder/mill/sander/polisher work on those .

Satori: I too was a bit worried when I saw you grind your off , and at the time didn't think it was the smartest decision.
when VAs asked for this mod I didn't want to do it at first but decided to anyway , and it tuned out better than I thought it would have , no I DO NOT recommend people go out and try this at home , the material is super soft and there isn't much behind the brake tabs so it's easy to grind through these FAST !

I gave VAS a deal on these but if I were to do another set the lowers with my cost + time involved to remove the disk tabs would be $200-250 for just the lowers !

yeah, no doubt, touching the mag lowers with a pnuematic grinder is like cheese. Especially compared to when I ground of the chromo disc tabs from my Rebates recently.
I plinked off the little cable guide tab from mine too.

Also, now I just notice, you didn't have to grind nearly as much as I did since the '07 and newer Marzos have Post mount tabs!!!! Mine have the old ISO so I had to remove and flush down WAAAY more matieral!!!!

props pornkong, another prime-cut raw A1 example. I like it a lot.
10kg flips my lid, hard to believe.

I remember that company that did those bars and fork... mmm, titanium (never owned a ti bike before...). I remember there was a thread featuring his full Ti bike, and it had like the 4cross (shape, not racing) looking dropped/offset bb/chainstay yoke, etc. in order to slam the chainstays to the ridiculous limit... anyone else remember? lots of argument over it. pic of the builder (french guy if I recall correctly) holding his built bike up by one finger...

I'm going to sound like a jerk, but with this level of build just making this thing a little more BMX would make it a bunch better. Some bars w/ a 5.5" rise, a 24" S&M Pitch (or something close/lower) and you'd have the same thing but a bunch more top tube clearance.

This thing is definitely dated (1999) but I would love to see the front end of my old Brooklyn paired up with the rear end of that NS (although I'd need some 990's)

The NS is 85% DIALED - it just needs to be made more can-can and turndown friendly :D

I see where you're headed, but wouldn't that make the BB super low with that frame? The geo on that NS is designed around a taller suspension fork, right?

On a side note, I'm still thinking about something in the 24" department. I've been riding the trails on my old 20" the past few weekends. It's fun, but feels soooo small and unstable compared to my 26. I'm thinking I'll build up a new 20 and 24, and throw them both into the rotation with the two-six. Is that too many DJ bikes?

You can never have too many bikes. I feel you on the 20 feeling a lil unstable. That's why I stick to street/park on the 20 and trails on the 24.

word, you can never have too many. i sort of do the same, except i ride both my 20 and 26 on the street and dirt. go back and fourth between which one i want to spend more time on. just depends on the day i guess. keeps things interesting. a 24 would make a lot of sense in my life:busted:.

and dayumm, that NS looks so good. i have a thing for brakes again so i kind of wish it had mounts, but it's not my ride. perfect non the less, please keep it and shred the he!! out of it!

Hey, beer snob, I'm pretty sure my bars are 7. Bigger bars might feel better, huh?
I think you'd like 8" bars. Years ago when I built my first 20, I had like 7" bars on it. I could never make it work, no matter how hard I tried. My back was always aching and I felt TOTALLY out of control. fast forward to earlier this year. Beerz brought his premium complete with ape hangers over to my house to check it out. One ride down the driveway and I was HOOKED! For me, the 8" bars made all the difference. Also, if you look at a lot of the DJ guys, their running classic slams. Wide and tall for max control. Seriously, you might want to check 'em out.

I always felt more stable on jumps on a 26 but it's just not as fun as a 20 IMO. I'm also not at the level Cru is. Like Tiles said I switched to the ape hangers right after picking my bike up and love the bigger/wider bars. The wider bars also help me feel more stable in the burms. I would give them a shot and see what you think. I picked mine up used for $35. I had the Molly and the 20 at the same time but parted ways with the 24" after staying on the 20 all the time.

Yeah, I'll probably go with 8" bars if I do a new build. It's not like I can't ride a 20... that's the only thing I rode for almost 20 years. It just would be nice to have it feel a little closer to my 26 if I'm going to be riding both.

I'm like ebrider.... a 24 would make a lot of sense in my life.

And with the new Molly's coming out soon, that sense could be had just around the corner:busted:
