Jonesing for a camper again. Might go with a pop-up this time for various reasons.

Trailer or bed carry?

That whole four wheel camper thing is like affluent white people crack right now. Those are selling 5 years used for what they cost new.

We had a popup camper for years. Awesome in quiet decent temperature environs. Cold and loud everywhere else.

This is a pretty reasonably priced build with lots of sleeping area, at least to my eye. With solar and a big lithium array seems set up for off grid use.

70 grand?

Pay off those med school bills first young man!
This is way lower on my priority list than a mountain home near Tabernash. But compared to many $100k+ class B RVs out there this seems sane.

Great spot, 10/10 will hit again. Not sure how many acres he has, but it's surrounded by timber and there are only 2 camp spots. One in the trees, and one on an overlook. Our spot was awesome and very secluded.

That Sprinter conversion turns out to be $68k… on top of the Sprinter price.

So you have your unicorn K2500 flatbed and a Tacoma still? y tho
13mpg on the 2500HD (how dare you call that a K2500!) probably has something to do with it.

It snows here. Donner party style not the silly CO shit. Clearance and 4wd has its merits, whether it's carrying a party or not. Plus the tacoma is a base model with roll up windows and almost 300k on it. Nobody wants that thing. It's cheaper for me to keep it running.

Unless you want to buy it of course, then it's a meticulously maintained reliable and efficient truck with 'some use' but cared for with love.

Choice weekend on the Trask river. Frida got hot going up Rocky Point leaving the house, but never went over half way on the temp gauge. Weather was a bit chilly in the morning but I brought a ton of wood.

The diesel heater burned .74 liters in just over 10 hours of runtime. It works awesome.

Winterized the water system in ours today, it will likely be back to close to 80 freedums a week from now :(

Tell us more.
Just measured windshield area and bought some of this and got to cutting. Took two tries to get it. Did side windows too and they attach with magnets. Took a little time to get looking good, but cheaper than anything I saw pre made. Retailers want way to much cash for that shit...

Not to brag, but my van has actually worked out pretty damn well so far. This weekend was flawless and my batteries never went bellow 85% and the heater just sips fuel. I know I still have some work still. But camping is wicked nice now. Packing, setup, teardown unpacking is now a few minutes. So awesome.
