Neighbor children left us their fish while they went on vacation. I kid you not, not even a day later and one of the two was belly up dead.
Gonna have to source a new look alike fish before they get back Friday and are wondering what happened to Claire.

Fucking Wyoming fireworks had my dogs freaked. Mori was so bad I had to sedate him with some Acepromazine. All 4 of them piled on top of me for the night. Ruth went and used the guest room so she could get some sleep. At least the shit stopped by 11

house/yard/garden stuff today. balls humid and hot. going to be making mrs. scrub a bike widow for a couple weekends this month, so staying home and getting stuff done instead of riding.
Here. Storm decided wakeup time was midnight and proceeded to start throwing dime- to nickel-sized hail at the house. I'll get the car washed this afternoon to have a clean surface to look at, but this might have been the storm that got it. I saw a couple new dents in the shingles just looking out the window, so the roof and siding will need to get looked at too.
One meeting and a class this morning, but I expect the class will be a no-show, so I'll just study. This afternoon will be busy, tomorrow is jammed all day, then Friday is cleanup before I leave for two weeks.

took the genesis into the garage to have an electronic thermostat fixed. brought my bike to ride back as it's just like 2 miles home. stupid derailleur cable pulled out so I had to ride in the largest gear the whole way back

Heading back to the green tunnel in a few minutes after a failed attempt to restore water proofing to my rain jacket. Guess who gets to replace gear this week…
given how much you've spent after the race car stopped working due to the accident, i'd say that's not the case.

i wish i could remember what route i took to aspen one time....seemed like it was all back roads....before i had a smartphone....Aspen trails are good trails.
In ground or above? I think I could convince myself an above ground is a reasonable affair. In ground, however, NFW on that.
Shouldn’t have much effect. New pool installs typically have proper fence and covers. It the old non covered, non fenced in grounds that are high dollar.
I've not washed the car since winter - no need. Only need now is to check for dents. Brave New World out here.

Independence Pass? Not really a back road, but probably felt like that 20 years ago.
Follow-up visit with orthopedic specialist was a bit of a let down today. he was pretty dismissive. "yeah, it'll heal fine. just wait 6 weeks and you'll be good to go. in the mean time don't do any push-pull movements".
I kind of assumed because of the location of the fracture ("Nondisplaced extra articular fracture through the supraspinous portion of the scapula"), that it might heal quicker than the typical 6 weeks. I also hoped that healing was more of a exponential curve than a "switch" (no-go to go) and I could start doing some easy stuff (like canoeing maybe) after 4 or 5 weeks... Maybe my physio will give me more hope?!

Nothing caught fire last night, and nobody's hand looks like exploded sausages, so I we can safely pack that one away for a another year. Day off today. The plan is to do absolutely nothing and live off of whatever is left in the cooler.
above ground pools = kill list. 3 of my neighbors have above ground pools and last summer a ground hog chewed through 2 of them.
My old dog must be getting pretty deaf. Bummed about that, but at least we could properly enjoy watching the fireworks down in the valley without her being a nervous wreck.
