Ozzer, those were some amazing photos!

Did you happen to get one of 756ZA? I was on a blue Intense w/green (fugly) fork. That was my 2nd DH race and it was amazing.

If you're in that passing pic, you're more likely in this flick.. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7216061000171050671

My wife picked the soundtrack. :p

Zure, we prolly don't have the ZAs but we'll look when we get back. We're in Arizona right now and riding here sucks. Too many rocks..

Ultranoob and I drove up to AZ over the weekend to meet up with Shyrmp and Ozzer. Ultranoob wanted to find out if the riding there indeed sucked so we planned to drive up Saturday afternoon, ride Sunday morning, then be back in SoCal Sunday afternoon. Quick recap and with amateur pics ahead.

The day started off with Shyrmp checking out the local housing market.

    She liked the open views

Then the Champ got all impatient and dragged everyone to the top of South Mountain for some riding. God those socks are aweful

Ozzer hates waiting for the noobs

Then Ultranoob came down the trail and rubbed elbows with Tim! It was our first time meeting the guy and Ultranoob was already stuffing him into corners. What a jerk!

It was Ultranoob's first time at SoMo. If he felt like he had to drop a deuce before we rode he sure didn't feel like he could afterwards. Here he is going around one of the rock piles. YOU FAIRY!

Shyrmp dusted off the full face helmet and decided to come out and play. Here she is all low and aerodynamic-like

Our gracious and rather spiffy looking host, Bret

Father and Son, Jordan and Bill. Jordan beat us down every run. We suck like Lovebunny's faster brother, Andy

Tim got tired of bumping shoulders with Ultranoob and hucked right over him. Teach him a lesson.

I was pretty tired from the drive up the night before but, remembering how Lovebunny's fasterer brother Andy stood us up in the last Fontana race, my blood boiled, my eyes bulged, my nostrils flared and my face tried too ooze out of my helmet as I tried to forget about how Andy didn't race us at Fontucky

Here's Ultranoob having flashbacks of his last race at Fontucky against me

We're on Bret's home turf so he knows all the lines, even the gnarly ones that makes Ozzer complain.

Ozzer hates rocks and loves braking on easy stuff

Tim on the smoother line with Ultranoob in the background wanting some payback

Ultranoob getting his aggro on and getting it cancelled by the reflectors on his pedals

You guys ready yet!? Ozzer hates taking breaks

That was a good 3 runs down Geronimo which is apparently one of the easier DH runs down South Mountain. Easy for who? I guess it's all relative. Relative to Holbert Canyon sure it's easier. No pics of that run because Ultranoob decided to go over the handlebar and tackle the earth, taking away my excuse to take breaks and take pictures.

Good times with great people. Ozzer lied. Arizona riding is tits! Just ask Ultranoob! Oh wait, nevermind.

    Some more pics here

Never been to trails where hikers greet and egg you on to hit lines faster. Good times.

Pbody, where was your crew? We didn't see anyone else but us at the Gulch.. too bad we missed riding with your group.

Yeah, it was a bummer. Didn't get in any DH this weekend, some of your SDieates were w/out DH bikes, so we did a 12 mile climb to enjoy 3 miles of DH on trail bikes. Rough stuff!

    Next time fo'sure!!!

Guys, I think I left something at Bret's garage. Wanna do a weekend road trip soon? Somo's on the way..

Twas a real sh*tty day out.

Sherms and Adrian, after riding behind Casey for three laps at the racetrack, he may actually outlast you two. The lil bugger is fit.

    Love the socks Orv!

Dude that trail looks so awesome, would love to check it out some day.

I just did my first ride in over 5 months, out in Alpine with Dave B. and Eddie.

I miss riding, I'm gonna try to buy a bike in a month or so.

Alright, hope to go riding with you and Heather again soon!

Things should be looking better soon at Lake Henshaw. New vegetation is sprouting right now. I know it's pretty tempting to forge new lines since you can see so much potential that was hidden before by the thick brush. Same thing is happening at the other end of the lake where the xc guys ride.

I've been staying off the face because I would stick out like this :busted: Besides, I'm too old for rocks and jumps anyway :twitch:

Our short jaunt at our local mountain dumped us in Vermont for what ended up being an epic ride...or hike...then some riding.

Greetings from Vermont.... Err... East San Diego county?????

OK so as OZ said our local trail ride turned into a Bike / Hike session like none known thus far to us Socal types. Just think of something warm while viewing the pics below and wonder what color socks OZ is wearing under those jeans.

Utranoob on the Winter fire road to nowhere

Ed "The Icebreaker" Lubba blazing the trail for the guys without climbing gears.

Cuong chose the wrong day for his maiden voyage on this trail, but he looked happy anyway.

Ed actually had a hard time finding anything to climb so he turned around and rode back up the trail at one point.... damn roadie!!!

Ultranoob just killin' the section before the switchbacks.

Sluck cheating and following my fastestest line throught the snow, no hiding the ninja lines that day.... All Sluck had to do was follow the tracks in the snow to be fast..... Such a cheater.

all in all.... Very cool, won't soon forget. Amazing how different a place you think is familiar can be so different when the weatherman brings Vermont to your neck of the woods. Other highlights included the Skiiers we encountered (yes you read right) and Sluck admitting to me that Ultranoob has struck fear into him for the upcoming Winter series - of course he said this while trying to cuddle with me for warmth in the parking lot..... That guy.....

Keep riding everyone ....... Oh and lovebunny ....... uhhh nevermind!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, didn't we decide that we'd cut BLT out and head straight to upper noble, but then someone begged to do BLT?:ban:

Hey, after Hollen-broke-your-back, La Cima Leg Burner, and various other riding misadventures, I figured you guys woulda learned not to to listen to my advice. Especially when you already suspect that hardships are soon to come. BTW... whoz the smart guys who wore SHORTS on a ride where they knew there would be SNOW and extremely low temps with gusting winds :lighten:

I hate seeing you with neg creds so I'm hooking you up too since you broke most of the trail for us (including Ozzer) to follow.

Move to Texas or Mexico and blaze.

We were in Murrietta the whole time.
