Ah, open enrollment season, the time of the year I find out how much more I'll pay for less benefits in 2024.

Turns out its an extra $20/mo in premiums, $2K out of pocket difference vs 2023. Fucking A.

this is when it's nice to be a state employee. $39/mo pre-tax for my family premium, with the state kicking in the other $2,085.50/mo. admittedly this is a HDHP plan but with the HSA and my marginal rate I'd be on it anyway.

Speaking of dead

UHC is just gonna deny the claim he is dead and prop his ass up in the CEO chair, weekend-at-bernies style
can't wait to see what the investigation turns up. my money is on someone disgruntled that a claim got denied for like cancer or something. i've got some serious "maintenance de routine" vibes here.

I will be VERY curious to learn if this was a random, or a hit.

Either way, no tears shed.

No way that was random.
I remember Marchione (the old fiat-chrysler ceo) had bodyguards and closed the entire floor he had scheduled for meetings when he visited locations around the world. A lot of people have beef on ceos for large conglomerates.

Spike is the market opening after they knew the CEO had been killed. Not sure if in here or zero faith thread.

It boggles the mind as to why dudes are nonchalantly blowing away health insurance ceos in the middle of Midtown Manhattan, casually strolling away, and then boarding a citibike for a celebratory lap of Central Park

Anthem Insurance issues new edict to cap anesthesia coverage at a time limit
From @jonKranked s CNN article:

"Some more context: Thompson was named chief executive officer for UnitedHealthcare in April 2021. UnitedHealthcare is part of UnitedHealth Group, America’s largest insurance company and one of the country’s biggest companies: UnitedHealth Group is the fourth-largest company in America as ranked by revenue, according to the annual Fortune 500 list."

Maybe someone should forward that article to Anthems CEO.

Fun fact: Mount Sinai West, the hospital where holmes was taken after getting lit up, was removed by UHC from their provider network last year

Literally just filled out my 2025 enrollment bs for UHC. Our corporate plan isn’t awful…, but I would hate to have to pay the premiums as a private individual.

"The business run by Thompson brought in $281 billion in revenue last year, making it the largest subsidiary of the Minnetonka, Minnesota-based UnitedHealth Group. His $10.2 million annual pay package, including salary, bonus and stock options awards, made him one of the company’s highest-paid executives."

CEO pay just makes no logical sense to me. there's no clear correlation between what they do/bring in and what they're paid as far as I can tell.

CEO to regular worker ratios are much more sane in Japan, an actual civilized country.

Japan also has universal healthcare if memory serves.

Which is rather low for a c-suite individual...

Perhaps killing them all would best maximize shareholder value

It’s amazing how much people care about a cunty CEO getting killed vs. the hundreds if normal people who are shot every day in the US. Your oligarchy is showing.
