i think i will do that. i can write up a good review and post it after a couple of months of riding. i am so comfortable on the demo, i honestly don't know how anything could top it. but the demo is my first real downhill bike so i have nothing real to compare it to. i have ridden some other downhill bikes, but they totally were not setup for me so it's not a fair comparison. i think the makulu will shine in different areas that the demo does, and they will both offer something different for strictly dh or some freeriding.

i swapped the seats.. it weighs 38lbs 4oz.

No linkage; I was able to make a smooth, progressive leverage curve without linkages. And, thanks.

Wow, very progressive looking. Hopefully work well with the Double Barrel. A variety of different shock mount shuttles with different height front shock mounting point heights might be an idea if you go full retail, so customers could alter leverage curve, and head angle.

As far as adjustments, its not real obvious in those pics, but there is quite a bit of adjustment built in. Chainstay length and BB height/head angle have eccentric mounts that can be flipped, and it has a 1.5 HT, to allow for an Angleset as well.

I'll find some pics that show those areas a bit better and post em up. If you click on the second pic and zoom in, you can see some of what is going on.
Since we were only using one pair of bearings in the frame for the suspension, I went huge. It's a 25mm pivot axle.

I noticed that but then I looked at the rear tire and it didn't look like you had any move to room forward. Unless it is already in the forward setting?

Where did you put the main pivot point. That's what really interests me.

The wheel fits in both chainstay settings, however, adding more tire/mud clearance is one of the larger tweaks that will be incorporated into the Beta frames. Currently, we have one of the Alpha frames in the long setting, and one in the short setting.

Pivot location is inline with the chain when using a 36T ring. It would probably be considered mid-high; the location was placed to balance axle path for square edge hits, pedal well in a gear range that us mere mortals are most likely to pedal, and avoid excessive chain growth.

Using DT rims for rocky trails is like using a feather to destroy a tank. I will be surprised if they live.

My newest bike isn't a downhill bike, but to go with my DHR, and XC bike, I decided to build an all mountain type bike. After much back and forth deciding on a frame, I figured I wanted a carbon one, so options narrowed further and after being offered a good deal on this frame, I settled on the Pivot Mach 5.7 carbon. Initial impression are pretty good, the suspension is so plush. I have yet to take it for a proper spin, but so far I am loving it. Didn't try and build it crazy light, went for reliable parts, ease of servicing etc...I still have some cable and hose trimming to do. I am waiting for a bottom chain retention type device to arrive, as there is currently no way of attaching an LG1 or similar type chainguide to this frame. I wanted to run it 1x10 so this setup I have will have to do. Although with the clutch rear mech the chain stays put.

Best bike I have ever ridden hands down!

What's your impression of the bike besides being the best bike ever? I'm seriously considering dropping the cash on one of these this summer to replace my sunday, and out of all the bikes I've been looking at, it's certainly the cheapest. Only problem is that I haven't really heard much about it. So I would essentially be buying it in good faith..

From what I hear, and that's not a lot, people seem to really like it, but I'm looking to see pedaling and suspension characteristics, etc. would you happen to know the leverage ratio?
