When I worked at a bike shop I had a customer come in because the 29" tire he put on his hybrid had cut thru the chain stay. So many stories.

What are you getting at? I actually run a flat bar and a dropped stem on my DH bike, but its... a bit odd fit wise.

If I could find really wide flat bars I would run them on my AM ride too...
