You might have seen a lot but Monzie is one special animal. And he is still kicking and screaming, too. There's a cadaver lab in the basement of my office. Try me.
Zipper Neck - October 2012Your neck zip is gnar. I like it. I have some befores I might be able to wrangle, the afters are classic. Not inherently bad, it's just my ugly mug might crash the server. I'll have to wait until I get home though.
JK, I wanna see these cadavers. The more gruesome, the better.
what's creepier than the cadaver lab is the lab that makes patient specific cranial plates - for severe severe head traumaYou might have seen a lot but Monzie is one special animal. And he is still kicking and screaming, too.
You have to have special permission? I'll be right back, I have some digging to do.I don't work in a morgue if that's what you're getting at. They're for medical device development purposes. Our license only allows for limbs, torsos, etc - ie pieces. We aren't allowed to have complete intact cadavers.
Not really... we pretty much continually talk **** about that still to this dayThis reminds me of an important point for the noobs. You get sympathy points on the Monkey if you lop off a few of your digits.
nothing you can't find on google dude. I don't have direct access to the lab b/c i'm not PD.I'll take torsos and limbs.
yea dude the cadaver business isn't some black market, but is rather clandestine and surprisingly large. You have to have special permission? I'll be right back, I have some digging to do.
I am not an alcoholic...... I have failing internal organs...... I just do not want to die yet Pancreas, liver and kidneys are now on my list of endangered organs for me...... Kidneys being the most recent, down to 60% kidney function and still bleeding..... Fun Fun.Seriously though, congrats Dirty Mike.
i can't really post anything unfortunately due to NDA's, but if you're interested the company I work for makes orthopedic implants - plates, pins, screws, etc.Yeah, I know I can find it on google it's just more interesting to me when it's from a personal collection of someone I directly interact with. Oh well, thanks though. Those skull plate things sound interesting.
we used some big words early on, so you might want to skip it.should i even bother reading this full thread? im just chiming in to say hi to my buddy moosey
Glad to hear it. Good for you.And I do not drink anymore.... been almost a year
I have that feeling too...IL9, do I know you from another forum?

Whoa. That's pretty effing cool. What do you do again? This is a new job right?I don't work in a morgue if that's what you're getting at. They're for medical device development purposes. Our license only allows for limbs, torsos, etc - ie pieces. We aren't allowed to have complete intact cadavers.
In that case, I take back my congrats; sorry your body is going out of its way to kill you.I am not an alcoholic...... I have failing internal organs...... I just do not want to die yet Pancreas, liver and kidneys are now on my list of endangered organs for me...... Kidneys being the most recent, down to 60% kidney function and still bleeding..... Fun Fun.
Liver is cool, the gall bladder that was killing it is gone, the pancreas is mostly stable along with blood sugar..... I get to start seeing an immunologist <sp> to find out if I am just a medical mystery or if there is an underlying condition that is trying to kill me.
I'm a packaging engineer. Right now the majority of my projects are on biological based and biosynthetic materials, so most everything is cold chain / thermally controlled and sterile. Very similar to a job i had a few years back working on soft tissue and organ repair items, now its mostly musculo-skeletal devices.Whoa. That's pretty effing cool. What do you do again? This is a new job right?
Sounds like a perfect opportunity for a Frankenstein!... Our license only allows for limbs, torsos, etc - ie pieces. We aren't allowed to have complete intact cadavers.
Will need some some tesla coils firstSounds like a perfect opportunity for a Frankenstein!
Please, show us your creativity.
So you are missing a limb?I don't work in a morgue if that's what you're getting at. They're for medical device development purposes. Our license only allows for limbs, torsos, etc - ie pieces. We aren't allowed to have complete intact cadavers.

What did you do? I want to see them!Edit: why didn't the HTML picture things from Flickr work?
There is no direct HTML embedding here, paranoia must be running strong with the admins. It worked on Empty Beer for me.
It is JBP's love child! And one of his dingle-berries!I'll bet it's a problem with direct linking to Flicker. I was never able to do it on Empty Beer either.
How's this?

fixed. There is no direct HTML embedding here, good security practice must be running strong with the admins. ...
I've embedded pic from other sites here. I've never been able to embed flicker photos in the "Babies" thread. Always had to do a screen print. There is no direct HTML embedding here, paranoia must be running strong with the admins.
That is the scar from a neck dissection. The final (and successful) treatment for Stage 4 Metastatic Squamous Cell Carcinoma (cancer). The statistics say there is a 15% survival rate for the cancer I had. I was fortunate enough to be in that 15%. Over the past year I went through all the rest of the cancer crap, Chemo, radiation and finally the surgery. Except for being 60lbs lighter and a lot weaker than I was a year ago, I'm doing just fine.Back story, please?
