22" is the way to go.more I ride my S&M cruiser, the more I want a 20!
I've been on ridemonkey for 13 years. Fack that's a long time.
The thought of you ridin' around on that giant heavy chunk of $hit makes me<snip>
Flats and skate shoes on my 2001 RM7 with Super T fork. Fox DHX coil rear shock and X9 drivetrain bits, but OG cranks and Ryhno Lite wheels.
i have a set of those too. sitting in my parts bin. needles an axle rebuild.I don't ride anything for the sake of being retro, but some stuff just lasts. The '95 V brakes on my commuter still work great, along with XT shifters from the same year that work flawlessly and are beautifully made.
These things will probably outlive me:

I would kill for a new pair of those in red. I use 646s on the Bridgestone MB3, the SC Heckler, and my road bike.I don't ride anything for the sake of being retro, but some stuff just lasts. what size wheels do motos have? The day I can't replace one of my 26" bikes with a similar, newer 26" bike is the day I buy a moto and never look back.
THAT is retro...I used to love the Bridgestone line...had a chance to buy a mint MB1 a year or so ago, still all original and cool, just couldnt pull the trigger....on the Bridgestone MB3
But... but... but... tubeless is the greatest thing since sliced bread! Or so I've been told.I still use tubes.
No one has convinced me that the hassle is worth it.But... but... but... tubeless is the greatest thing since sliced bread! Or so I've been told.![]()
I'm *really* close to converting my rear wheel... paying the Deer Creek tube tax is getting rather annoying...No one has convinced me that the hassle is worth it.
Same here. But I still toy with the idea of trying it one of these days.No one has convinced me that the hassle is worth it.
Do it. It's absolute bliss.I'm *really* close to converting my rear wheel... paying the Deer Creek tube tax is getting rather annoying...
I would just love to experience "sub-20PSI without pinch flats." I'm guessing you're riding buff XC.if you have thorns or arseholes setting up booby traps on trails -> tubeless is bliss
also running sub-20PSI without pinch flats is nice
I have nothing to be proud of in this thread, I am a `tweener hipster with wide carbon hoops and a 1x drivetrain. Or do brass nipples count?![]()
Not really, I ride the Mass chunk most of the time. But I do not do hucks to flat.I would just love to experience "sub-20PSI without pinch flats." I'm guessing you're riding buff XC.
Yooouuu are not aloooneee, I amm heere with yoooouJust to caveat, I didnt start this to be eliteist or snotty...just want to know I am not the only guy who rides stuff til it breaks. Now who else is still rocking the neon other than Mantis?
My DH bike is a 5 speed.Wait... wouldn't retrogrouch be 7-speed?![]()
Ain't you kinna young to be a retrogrouch? My DH bike is a 5 speed.

Now who else is still rocking the neon other than Mantis?
Strava is the worst thing to happen to mountain biking since 29ers.Nevver understood the computer on a bike thing. Tried it, ended up focusing too much on the stupid thing and not on the ride...will use the HR monitor on the single speed now sometimes for HR training, but not often. Just ride the damn bike already...
