I've been seeing so many build pics lately. Herndon just built a silly rad pump track and posted pics of it on his blog. Ben Blitch of Asheville "B4 Consulting" is posting pics of big, banked up switchbacks on his blog. Gerrit posting pics of dirt jumps galore.

Anybody with experience building pump tracks want to come lay one out at my house?

"Pumptrack Nation" at Leelikesbikes.com has some layouts and how to build (never actually seen the complete copy just different layout), but I've always liked the rollers spread out a little more. That way they have a BMX rhythm section feel. I also think the rollers should be well rounded not peaky.

introduced my partners at work to a little freeride action today at the zone at country park. i think they're hooked :thumb:

he picked it up quick and was trying to fly on his second run

the other one did pretty well too...not bad for never jumping before

a little bermage for the new convert

...and i get to write it all off as "training" :D

Hey Butch, pumptracks aren't hard to build at all. I have built 2 (both by hand with a shovel) and going to build another once the weather gets better around here. My suggestion is to look around on here and gets some ideas, then just go out and start building. The beauty is that you can constantly change things up and be very creative without too much effort. You could get someone to layout and build one for you but it will always be for you and not by you.

Ahhh winter...

We didn't want our construction skills to get rusty with all the snow we've had. Bets on how far my tarp flies in the 70 mph gusts we're supposed to get today?

looks like snow to me butch.
go beyond the obvious there caveman carnie. :D

freezing rain had frozen a 4 inch layer solid above the snow. We cut out bricks with a shovel and stacked them. Unfortunately the winds ripped the roof off last night, snapping my tent poles in the process.
gotcha! Way cool. We tried 5 gallon buckets at the house but once my girls lost interest, we quit stacking and realized it was something of a lude looking object anyway.

But its South riders.

Profro, Loonatic and SinatorJ in Sedona last Friday.

What trails is that? Im trying to put together a cross country trip and I was planning arizona in the quest, Coming back from SoCal

That trail is called HighLine. Sadly that was the 1st and last time we got around to riding that trail on our deathmarching around Sedona.

Looks like fun!!

I went to Arizona with my family last year during spring break and we stopped in Sedona for a few days. Got to rent a bike and rode some awesome trails! Trails like the Airport loop (rockiest trail in the city) and Soldier's pass and a few others I can't think of at the moment.

Sure was an awesome place and would love to go back and try some of their aggressive all-mountain/freeride trails!

Hey all, here's a short video of some clips that were on my computer that I don't think have been used. Mueller and Steven are riding, can't remember who shot it.

Man, I thought Tunnel Hill would have been a little bit nicer. It at least looks good from the Interstate.

Have you been to or heard of Monster Mountain in Alabama? I skipped Clemson and went and rode it all weekend. It's definately worth the trip. The track is unbelievably long with multiple elevation changes and the amount of track prep they put into it every night is unreal. You should definately check it out.

I'm really a woods guy. Don't know if I will get down to check out Monster, but the prep is quite opposite from the tracks we rode. Been on a track three times, above included, and if I was to do it more I'd need a better bike for the track. My 18" rear wheel, steep head angle, and enduro gearing was not confidence inspiring. But it was fun. Finally learned to use the throttle to adjust attitude while in flight.
