They added a raised jump/drop and a bunch of trannie. It is spooky from above, but if you dive in its ok (just dont overshoot it)

Bryn broke his femur (maybe more?) and elbow. He is in surgery now. Sounded very gnarly. Big props to Lars, Amado, Benedict and anyone else that stuck around to help him get off the hill.
Bummer about Bryn. I hope he heals up fast.

Bummed for Bryn Atkinson.
I'm at platty. Word is Bryn crashed trying to pull off a crazy line, watched him get airlifted, thoughts and prayers go out to him for sure.
Timing issues were caused by some non racers going through the finish during quialies

We've got a secret underground training facility out here where we import roxx. It's the only way to get experience outside of the beachside paved bikepaths we call mountain biking.

FEMUR & ELBOW SURGERY
Guess the world dint end today, but for Bryn it kinda did. He had fluke crash, front end slid on a rock, and he dropped from the air onto some rocks, causing a clean couple brakes in his femur (pictured left) and the little pointy part of his elbow to break off.
I came around the corner to hear him yelling and lars telling me not ot come over there. No words can really explain how that makes you feel when your teammate/best friend/ partner for life is down, clearly injured. He knew straight away it was broken, and his heart sank. So glad I was there for him, and everyone else who helped, homies looked after him
Took forever for the ski patrol / volunteers to get things together and get him off the hill. Steep climb out, and the drive down the fire road couldnt have been any rougher. They sent him in a chopper to Albany.
Hes had surgery and it went really welll. They got the bones all lined up and hardware in place. Seems like the worst pain ever braking that femur bone, thats gonna be the hardest part to manage. Not comfortable in any position, right side not happy.
Feeling so devestated knowing he was closer than ever to his dreams, and they are now on hold for a little longer. Heal up friend!!! Im at the hospital to make sure everything is going ok..

wow thats horrible... however i had a great one day on the mountain today during the sunshine and the races! good times!
We came down upper 'Da Bomb' a little while after he went down, and so many were there and stopped and helped carry him out; The look on his face, the sounds he made when being loaded up -- I stopped riding for a while; it was really intense.
Glad to hear the surgery went as well as possible, and that it was insisted he be taken to Albany vs Margaretteville or another local facility -- no disrespect to those places, but when something serious goes down at Plattekill, you need to go to Albany.
Healing vibes; Bryn is a great guy and an ambassador for the sport. Get well soon!!!

i saw him laying there, i couldn't stay and listen to it. i went down and took a break. hope he heals up quick! he was looking solid.
that said, the course was awesome! very impressed with the mountain. only took a few free ride runs but i like it alot!

a long bone fracture is no laughing matter. not to mention that the possibility of sustaining a neck or internal injury concurrently was high in his case. It should be clear to any competent first responder that he needs to be directed to a Level 1 Trauma center. Albany is the closest.

glad Bryn's surgery went well. i couldnt help but cringe when he was yelling when we loaded him in the truck to go down the hill. its normally tough for me to be around things like that, but when a rider is down, theres no question to stop and help. thankfully the accident didnt happen in one of the super steep sections where it would have been tougher to get him out.

despite that, the weekend's weather was actually awesome. Saturday's weather made for super tacky trails and the mountain dried a ton on Sunday (except for the beg/sport course)
