Nice! Bitch of a climb mid-ride.

I recall a few times hooking up White Ranch with GGSP. Stupid and painful but great when done!
Wife and I have ridden from home doing Apex, up through WR, Mountain Lion in GGSP, back into WR for Mustang, Maverick, Longhorn and back up chimney.

50 miles, 9000ft vert.

I did briefly consider a North Table lap while having tacos and beer before climbing chimney...

you know, Thomson are bulletproof, but WTF do they use little 3mm hex fasteners made of soft butter? Any fastener that small should at least be torx, or Ti.

sorry, rant off.
Ham fisted need not apply. I hear you though, I have one from the 4mm era and the other from the 3mm.Gotta be careful.

Scouted a new network. Big boulders in there, but none were "trailed"

next time will explore more.

Finally, some decent snowmageddon riding. Forgot my gloves. Turned out to not be a problem.

Holy shit today was good. Tshirt, shorts and sweating. Kinda brought back memories of Pisgah a few years ago; leafy and wintery looking, but perfect temperature.

Chromag.

It has bears on it and 5mm bolts all around. :D

I actually got this one, even though its heavier, partially because of the 5mm bolts. I always feel like 4mm bolts on my other stems are on the verge of rounding out after a few uses....
Would you trade for a generic Norco stem? asking for a friend.

More practicing... I think I like the feeling of a higher handlebar.

Also, need to figure out how to open up this X2. No idea how many spacers are in it.

Bike is now Ride Wrapped, and lines are trimmed. Looking much moar better.

This thing is 2lbs lighter than my Nomad, and had an easier gear ratio in the granny gear. (34t/50t = .68 vs. 30t/42t = .71). Still not feeling all that spritely on the climbs. I suspect that is likely more due to 2 months of Covid drinking and elderly parent management than it is the bike.

I'm still riding like a Mary because I'm scare to inflict any damage on this thing. I'm sure that will pass but I think some more fitness and a more dialed setup are still "to come".

No regrats so far.

Other than the stem, of course.

Brilliant morning ride with what felt like unlimited grip. Really been a good fall this year vs the non stop rain last year. I ran into our two best WC XC pros today Sebastian Fini and Simion Andreasen and managed to get close in one section if only I had know so I could have tried to go faster :-) but pretty cool to see them out there.
