I love how people are demanding answers, once you become a investor I can see demanding answers/results but as it stands forum nerds requiring the R&D departments of companies to succumb to their will is silly.
Will I be riding a Turner? Nope, I love my revolt. Im glad to see a company not rushing for the fast dollar and making sure the product they release is correct.

Marketing departments use these channels to create hype about their product and then are surprised that the "forum nerds" (as you like to call them) turn against them when they stop using this type of communication as soon as something goes wrong w/ products/warranty/ETA/ etc.?

Investors are generally shareholders. Customers are not shareholders.
If you are an investor, you give capital(money) to Turner in exchange for the right to lay claim on a set percentage of future profits/assets/capital. Turner would be borrowing your money with the obligation to pay it back plus a certain level of interest (positive or negative: depending on performance). Under typical circumstances, you would now be an owner of Turner.
If you are a customer, you give money in exchange for a frame and any warranty coverage that comes with it. That's it. Once the money is taken from Turner, Turner (along with its investors) owns that money, and can decide what to do with it. You traded money for a frame/warranty with no further claim on that money. Under typical circumstances, you would now be an owner of a Turner.
You are a stakeholder, not a shareholder.

So I'm assuming you put up capital to DT and DW for the direct development of these bikes? Its really rad that you did that so that DW and DT can have the time/ability to build and get the bikes just right. Im sure once they are out you'll see a great return on your investment.

I saw this thread and for a minute thought that Turner had a DH bike. Crazy.
Well, there's a step in the right direction! There's proof that Turner found a new machine shop (one that's in buisness and can make him parts), got cnc'd goods and shipped them to Sapa, and they welded them to tubes, heat treated them and shipped them to back Turner! What's left? paint? Oh wait- links, a swingarm and pivots. It seems the hard part is behind them.Nothing to see here! Moooove along.

Turner's allways done it this way. Sapa is, or has been doing a few Santa Cruz bikes as well, most notably the V10, but that looks to be coming to an end.
There's Intense, Ventana, Foes and Ellsworth, not many (any?)others left doing full suspension at this point! Sinister?

Chumba may do some in house, but I know that when I spoke to them a few years back that they were sourcing over seas as well.
Ellsworth was done at Sapa too.
Ventana and Intense have to be the ones doing any volume.
Chumba doesn't do it in-house. All overseas. Pretty much Ted doing the designs, and few guys sending out frames once they get it from Taiwan.
Frank is just making his own bikes these days. Sinister is sourcing their frames elsewhere for now.
Ellsworth was done at Sapa too.
Ellsworth was originally made by Sapa and Anodising, but built their own facility in Vancouver, Washington some years ago
they occasionally have a run of HT frames made by Sapa, the most recent being the "Specialist" DJ frame a few seasons back
their carbon-fibre HT frames and CF road frames plus their budget "Glimpse" complete bike and wheelsets are made off-shore
but all their full-suspension frames are US made in their own facility
I work for the UK importer who has a long relationship with Ellsworth, in case you are wondering...
