im a buck 30, the only thing I am remotley worried about is the rims, but peat ran them all season last year so I should be good.bballe336 said:It may be 36 pounds but will your parts spec last you a full season? I doubt it.
I have bladed spokes, and XC pedals, and the lightest DH cranks in existance (There almost as light as XTRs)NorCalRacer105 said:There's no way i just weighed mine with that exact same scale and mine came out at 42.6! It built to be pure race so its not like i have any heavy parts on there. Where do you drop 6lbs and still have it finish a race!?

dura ace cassete
X9 shifter and rear D (its ganna be XO soon)

Is the front tire resting on the flore there? 36.44 I know is possible, but still hard to believe. Peaty's 34lb Orang had every thinkable piece drilled out plus everything was carbon and whatnot to start, and the Orange frame start a few lbs lighter then the V10, doesn't it?TheMontashu said:here ya go guys
The scale is fine, it was literaly EXACLY the same as the claimed fox fork weight when I put my 40 on it.dropmachine.com said:Sorry dude, I still call bull****. My bike is built with very light parts, and my frame is lighter then yours. Industry nine wheels too. No way you are 4 pounds lighter then my bike. 38 maybe.
Get your scale calibrated.
the spindles are stainless, I asked the guys at crank bros at sea otter if I would be ok with them, the dual Tis yes. But the 4Tis have a ti spindleZutroy said:Even at your weight kiss the wheels goodbye...AL nipples on DH is just dumb, i wouldn't use Ti pedals, the spindles won't handle it.
Are you using the single wall kendas?
The tire was about an inch away from the floor and is not touching the stand in any way shape or forkm, V10pleasure was there when I put the thing on the scale. If he sees the thread he will back me upMike Buell said:Is the front tire resting on the flore there? 36.44 I know is possible, but still hard to believe. Nice bike despite my schepticism on the wieght.
nope, about 50 feel altitudeBicyclist said:Yeah, but are you at 18,000 ft. altitude.
So far so good (Insert shamless plug for brian HCM#1 here)Mike Buell said:Also what do you think about the Middleburns? I'm contiplating swapping my saints out for a pair, i'd drop up to 1.5 lbs depending on BB. I just really hate crap that breaks. Might just waite till middleburm releaser there external bearing cranks later this summer.

I local pro DH guy has literaly BENT cranks in corners and ran a TI BB all season with no issues.DIRTWRKS said:I agree Ti spindles won't last and the FSA Ti BB, watch out my 125lb son snapped the exact same one five minutes after I installed on his dirt jump bike!
Peat gets new wheels after every race. You don't.TheMontashu said:im a buck 30, the only thing I am remotley worried about is the rims, but peat ran them all season last year so I should be good.
looks like the shop I work at has a bad scale, even though all the fox forks that have come in I have weighed and they have been exactly what fox claims they are.bballe336 said:Not properly.
even though sapim skokes are ment for DH use, and the XC pedals I currently have have the EXACT same spindle and bearings as the mallet Cs and Ms. I also have DH cranks on there, you know what happens if they get messed up (Never heard of that happening BrianHCM and curb hucker have had no problems) I warentee them due to the lifetime warentee against DH racing and DJingbballe336 said:Peat gets new wheels after every race. Also I know guys that are like 140 and can shred through holzfeller cranks in one day. And you are running XC spokes which are going to be toasted in a week. And then running XC pedals; that is just horribly impractical. Making your bike unsafely light is dumb. You will end up hurting yourself. Just go to the gym.
Just throwin' it out there that the warranty EXcludes tapers, splines, and threads. So basically it's for the middle and the spider.TheMontashu said:even though sapim skokes are ment for DH use, and the XC pedals I currently have have the EXACT same spindle and bearings as the mallet Cs and Ms. I also have DH cranks on there, you know what happens if they get messed up (Never heard of that happening BrianHCM and curb hucker have had no problems) I warentee them due to the lifetime warentee against DH racing and DJing
I am not saying your pedals aren't strong enough. I am saying they are impractical. Meaning if you for some reason unclip and need to put your foot back on quickly it is tough with no platform. So you will have more trouble getting back on the pedals. Also if you smack those pedals into the ground or a rock you will come unclipped.TheMontashu said:even though sapim skokes are ment for DH use, and the XC pedals I currently have have the EXACT same spindle and bearings as the mallet Cs and Ms. I also have DH cranks on there, you know what happens if they get messed up (Never heard of that happening BrianHCM and curb hucker have had no problems) I warentee them due to the lifetime warentee against DH racing and DJing
bballe336 said:Also about the scale: you do realize that companies usually exaggerate weight right? So your scale saying that they are the exact weight is a bad thing.
I will see how they work as far as gettin in tomaro when I go for a ride. The clip part of the pedal protrudes on the mallets and they never came out from hitting rocks.bballe336 said:I am not saying your pedals aren't strong enough. I am saying they are impractical.
