Listen to this interview for some more wacky stories: http://www.combatmusicradio.com/The_Show/TheShow081505.mp3. I've pretty shure Pat tells some good Buzzoven story.HAHA! Buzzoven...now that brings back memories...Saw them with Cavity and Dropdead at Abc No Rio...I remember seeing Kurt/Kirk, the singer guitar player wail on his guitar, reach over & grab a Budweiser 40 oz bottle, smash it over his head, and kept on playing - never missing a beat as blood and glass ran down his dreadlocks....Good times, I thought, as glass pelted my chest!
We were roommates for a couple years, I've heard most of it.pretty shure Pat tells some good Buzzoven story.
No sh!t?! Nice.BTW - bike related - Pat is an amazing mountain bike rider. Really gifted. Climbs like a goat.
They played The Warrenton Motor Lodge in Warrenton, VA before their 15 seconds of fame were up on mtv.
True! He was vacationing there, right?Nasum. The only grindcore band to have a lead singer killed by a tsunami.
Quicksand yeah, but NOT the other two...Dimmu Borgir
Quicksand
Racer X
good stuff.Yeah. They live 6 houses down from me.
oh wow Finntroll. I gotta listen to some right now. The music videos are hilarious. They don't even take themselves seriously.I say Finntroll
you just like it because it's 'for the girls'.
not my bag, baby.
Dimmu is a great group!!!! Sepultura rocks!!!What's wrong with Dimmu?
Is Sepultura obscure? I love Roots. One of the best metal/hardcore albums ever.

Man, there was a time in NY that if you called the CRO MAGS metal, you'd have your ass kicked by some huge skin named Billy Psycho (of the band of course named the Psychos). Fast forward 1 year, and I saw them at the rock club in Brooklyn called L'mours...they wanted to be metal in the worst way - fog machine, feet up on the monitors Iron Maiden style, Harley Flanigan (bass player) wearing a scarf with a fan blowing on him...it was hilarious!Older stuff:
....back when metalcore was Crossover
The
Always lovedbut not sure about how obscure they were/are.
Not real obscure, buthas always been my favorite band.
is "sludge" metal to me.
I always likedbecause they were actually different.
Newer stuff: I've mellowed a lot with age.
I now like singers that actually sing - or at least take a shot at it..

Shendedahoa High School in da house! How's Buffalo treatin' ya?Starkweather...greatest metal-core band out there. From Philly.
"The Age of Quarrel" from Cro-mags was definitely hardcore, but they were all metal after that.
