Get the waffles.

Considering your non-plastic trail-bike requirement, what about the Turner Burner? Granted I'm a big Turner fan, but they're killer bikes and those frames are pretty reasonably priced these days.
this.

Love my burner, I've raced it in ultra endurance and used it in DH parks.

I fucking hate theives.

I guess all plans are different, but my insurance fully covered me years ago when someone stole my bike off my car at work.

Have a couple friends who love their Bronsons, a couple others who love their Nomads.

At least you get to shop for a new bike, which is fun.
I have a 5010 and I can vouch for it being a pretty nice bike too. Surprised how "long travel" it feels at 125/130, comparible to my stumpy which was set up 140 rear 150 front.

Anyway, fucking theives. Damnit. Sorry about your misfortune.

Why the Bronson over the Tracer? I took a brief ride on a Tracer today and liked it...
No good reason, honestly. My friend Aaron has the crabon model (with a Monarch RT3 shock, which was a significant improvement over the Fox) and I've putzed around on it and it's a super nice bike for sure. The numbers are all close between the two brands. I was really commenting more on the waffles than any thing else.

How was the Intense spec'd out? Large I assume?

Don't give up on it. A buddy had his DH bike stolen last fall, and after figuring it gone for good, someone saw it for sale on Pinkbike locally in March. After a bunch of back and forth with the local PD's, he got it back. The douche had a house full of stolen bikes. Last I heard he was getting charged with felony theft. udb1977 on pinkbike. I think his selling days are over, but just in case you want to humiliate him occassionally, have at it.

that looks like a killer bike. How does it depart from your initial ideas?

New 11sp XTR is cheaper then XX1 if you buy it in Europe. I run it with the XX1 cassette to get better spread on the cassette. Besides the quality of Shimano there are a couple of things I like on including direct mount for easier wheel removal and I can down shift by both pulling and pushing.

Also as Kickstand said maybe look at a little less travel. I run a GT Sensor with 130/140mm and its plenty of travel.

The Heckler was 150 mm and I was bottoming the shock. I guess if VPP wallows, I'm in for a number of years of wallowing.

The kicker in decision making for me was that I bought it from a person I ride with and have known for years; he rides a tracer and gave me his bike to try.

Dancin' over rocks n' roots!
Chiming in late, but I would vote Pivot Mach 5.7 too. They are sweet rides (though I haven't ridden the Turner and have only seen the Bronson). Always SRAM and I like my 2x10 setup quite well.
