gee just smashed it...hope he can hold out for the win. Results are all over the place though, kovarik and peat, two riders who can do well in the mud are way down the field. Great effort from Joe Smith, maybe he can make his first podium at this rate

EDIT: Minnaar just topped that from happening

and the W goes to Minnaar, unlucky for stevie smith kept off the podium by less than a second. Wonder what happened to hill to cause him to lose his lead from the first split...

amazing for greg considering that horrific MX accident only 6 months ago, really amazing.
what he said. pinned run, and great to see gee within grasp of the win again, I'm predicting a good season (although my predictions haven't been so good so far :D)

Dear Freecaster.

I had the perfect stream until the men's Top 10. Refreshing that page every second rider, having to reinsert code and watch that homo-erotic Rexona ad again and again. Faaaark.

So, a shaky connection at best Freecaster. I am not grumbling about paying as I now get to watch the replays later with a much better quality vid.

Not the same as live...

Come on Freecaster. If you need more money to produce better coverage, please sell advertising real estate. Do whatever it takes to ensure the next race is flawless.

Damian.

Anneke Beerten :cupidarrow:

Found out you have to have like 3 GB free on the partition where you have your browser installed in order to not have to refresh every minute and see the boring commercial...:( I guess this should have been posted somewhere...

For the 100th time, yell at the UCI, it's their feed.

Hey Damo,

I had two computers running side by side with 2 different codes and one was terrible and the other was great. They gave me a new code for the next race for free without me asking when the feed finished on the crappy streaming computer. I couldn't figure out my computer so we watched my brother's. So stoked for Fabian and Floriane!

actually no. the feed from freecaster to you is freecaster's problem. connectivity issues, web page errors, are all freecaster.

if the video went out for everyone, meaning the feed from uci to freecaster, then yes its uci's problem. bad camera angles, not getting coverage of your favorite racer, etc...then yea complain to them.

camera -> uci -> affiliates(freecaster, local tv, etc) -> freecaster internet servers -> you

Towing the party line.
Even Greg can't believe it (his words). It was a great race, super stoked for Brendan, Troy and Stevie. For those wondering about sam, he pulled off a tearoff in a section he shouldn't have and went down. It was out of tv coverage.

Quoted from Dirt for awesomeness!

"An incredible day for Britain, after twenty two qualified out of eighty and then 8 out of top twenty from UK. Good work Atherton, Fairclough, Smith, Simmonds, Bryceland, Cathro, Beaumont and Hart!"

Well chuffed to see Gee in 2nd. He'd prefer top I'm sure, but good start to the season. Surprised to see Minnaar winning it, would have put him outside of the top 5 really if I'd guessed. Nice result for Pedemanaud too!

The splits were a bit odd, what's with having two 95-seconds sectors of the track, and then the last sector being only 13 seconds long?!

Never heard of Robin Wallner though, but he killed it in the last split - 12.94s to Minnaar's 12.96. His claim to fame today - those hundredths count! ;)

Maribor results on RootsandRain, sorted by last split time:
http://www.rootsandrain.co.uk/race180/2010-may-16-uci-world-cup-1-maribor/men-categories/?pos=1&splits=1&traps=0&s1=11

Blenki definitely the king of the speedtrap (anyone know where it was? That super-fast gully towards the end of the track?) Fastest speed of the event in his race run with 34.66mph, and was 2nd only to Stevie Smith in qualifying.

(Sorry for the delay, been out racing myself and only got home a couple of hours ago, and had a lot to sort out!)

I'll be a lot more on-the-ball with Fort William - add yourself to the facebook page to get an update when I put new things on the site, cheers people!
