Defenses always play better against a new quarterback once they get a few games of tape to watch. That should happen just about playoff time.
Yep, and I think it was a terrible decision.

You have a QB that led your team to 13-3 last year, has them at the top of the division this year, is completing 70% of his passes and has 13 TDs to 5 INTs. So you bench him for a guy that comes in and throws one and a half good games?

Even if it ends up being a good choice, it was a bad decision. Smith got hosed, and I'm going to laugh if Kaepernick implodes and Smith takes his talents elsewhere.

coach Jim Harbaugh suggested during his postgame news conference that he had gone with Kaepernick mostly because he feared exposing former starter Alex Smith to concussion-related complications. That ran counter to reports Harbaugh had made a switch mostly for what Kaepernick could offer the offense.

Why go with Kaepernick?

"The injury, and the fact that Alex had symptoms seven days later, eight days later on a concussion," Harbaugh said. "I've had some bad experiences, not going to put a guy back out there who has symptoms like he had. They were serious enough."

Smith was injured Nov. 11. The 49ers played Chicago eight days later. Smith has been symptom-free since Tuesday, according to comments Harbaugh made Friday.

Doctors cleared Smith on Saturday. Harbaugh made Smith the No. 2 quarterback Sunday. Meanwhile, Kaepernick passed for one touchdown, rushed for another, took zero sacks and helped the 49ers win third down. Smith watched from the sideline and often kept on his helmet, just in case.

"Now, he eventually got cleared," Harbaugh continued, referring to Smith, "but the thought was to rotate him back into the action. But not all the way to the front lines. Thought that would give him a chance to get cleared up completely. That was the rationale."

FYI they lost Sunday. Just wanted to let you know because you didn't comment on the game.

LOL @ Pete Carroll throwing the ball deep with his team up 51-0. :)
The NFL margin of victory record isn't even within reach. :disgust1:

Also I think it would be totally fair to relegate the Cardinals to the CFL at this point.

that would be insulting to the CFL..more fitting would be the WAC

oh and to those asking about not posting on the NFL last week so sorry, had a little thing like helping my wife prep for knee replacement surgery preoccupying my mind...she is doing well post surgery, thank you very much.

The Niners margin of victory over Miami does not reflect the actual closeness of the game or the suck displayed by the Niners O line today

I thought the Pats were actually going to pull it off, but then after the runback and TD, I knew it was over.

I went to bed when the Seahawks were up 28-3. I was disappointed this morning when I saw the Seahawks didn't score 50.

Tough week for the 49ers. They got spanked, Mario Manningham and Vernon Davis left with injuries, and Jerry Rice lost his single season yard record.

LOL at SF

LOL'ing at SF aside, Seattle looks scary good right now. They are rolling. They've got my Rams next. RUH ROH. And I lost my fantasy league championship game yesterday thanks to Marshawn Lynch...that cockbag.

I was disapointed to se the seahawks killing the clock at the end of the game. There were points to be scored, someone think of the children.

Still, 150 points in 3 games isn't bad. At least managed to keep the 50 point/game average up. :D

Thank God that Chan Gailey got the boot.

Not that most of the other fired coaches look good. I'd take Lovie Smith though.

as much as i like making fun of andy reid.....his team quit on him before they had played 8 games.....14 years and only 3 losing seasons isn't all that bad.
