I found out there is a frame builder in Richmond VA, right up the road from me.
First I need to sell a bike to make room and funds. Initially the funds were going to go to components but it looks like now it'll be a frame. I am not a roadie by any means so I really dont need the latest go...
Yea I have thought about it but was hoping to do this on the cheaper, since I already had a frame.
The bike that I was looking at building is currently setup as a fixed gear and I really like the way it rode. So if I did buy a bike I would like to get a steel one.
Just have to see how...
I did read sheldon browns article on cold setting.
Most of the people I have been asking seem to be steering me to campy. I need to put my leg over a campy bike to try it out.
I did measure my self for a ball park fit and my frame is 2-3cm too large. :(
This means I need to find a new...
I have a mid 80s Bianchi Professional (with Ishiwata 220 tubing) and I was looking at what it would take to moderize this frame. I have some questions that I have with doing this.
I have 1" of clearance over the TT is that enough? Also the current setup (stem and handlebars) are a bit long...
I have no experience with the XR400 but by looking at the specs and doing a quick search it seems that the 400 is the replacement for the 4.2.
Hope this helps.
JohnBryanPeters is awesome!
I got a package on monday containing some brakes and random parts. With a little working I will be able to stop again.
Thanks again!
Built this up while I was working at a shop.
This was my first set of handbuilt wheels. It will never be this clean again.
Here is my pig of a winter bike. (in my defense thoes are my wifes pedals on there)
The controllers that I use in my lights have a built in indicator. The light blinks very quickly to warn you of a low voltage state and then dims accordingly.
I have used batteryspace.com for batts but some of those li-po prices look really nice. I will have to look into them a bit.
California sounds great but the cost of living scares us, that's the main thing. We would hate to plan on leaving and find out we can barely afford a place better than the one we have now. Not looking for a mcmansion but an upgrade would be nice esp with enough property to build a shop and room...
Thats right P4s are in the triple lights and I have two P7's ready for a dual light. I also have the controllers.
I need to model the housing in solid works and get to machining. Just need to figure out how much surface area I need for 20W worth LED light.
I have a step by step some where...

Now that I have my own machine tools (mini lathe and mini mill) I can do my own machining but im very limited in size. But with these the cost will be much lower than retail. I will slowly work on my next...

Im looking at getting on with the DOD as a civilian and Edwards is one of the places I was looking at, I was actually born there but was there. Another California base I was looking at was Vandenberg.
Its been a long while since I was active in this forum but figured that this is the best place to ask my question.
