I have been on a sx trail for several seasons now and ran it with a 36 van for the first several, however after cracking through the lowers and bending the internal rebound rod I had to trash it...

Yo man, thats me in the pic of the stepup, its sooo damn smooth, you just have to be careful not to overshoot the stepup cause its damn easy with to much speed. The drop off is cake, commit commit commit and go for it.

word man, thats my logic...however construction and durability comes into play, i dont need the travel, just the strength of something that will hold up to alot of abuse.
I really want 170mm of smooth motion control travel in a single crown fork....o why cant I just be granted with the perfect fork... 40mm stantions just get in the way, especially in the air, looking down at two toptubes for lowers....its more mental than weight, just throwing those 40mm...
Its going on a sxt, yes i do race it.
Travel isnt as key as performance and reliability...I dont want this thing imploading after a few 30foot tables
I absolutly hate the 40mm stanctions on the totem, thats really why the lyrik appeal so much.

the travel limit on the sxt is 175mm declared by specialized...if you want to follow their rules. It feels much better than a nomad, bullit, or even a bottlerocket. The bullit has to small of a wheelbase in my opinion. And the geo of the sxt feels much more comfortable over the nomad. As for the...
In the 1 1/8 version...advantages dissavantages? Split between the two, i like how the lyrik has 35mm stanctions, but need something that will take alot of abuse including racing and heavy freeride.

No this isnt a joke ;) I have a older flackjacket(before they became all mesh) however hate wearing it because i cant find a comfertable jersey that will fit over it and hate wearing exposed armor. I am about 6feet and 150lbs so a mens med fits me well without armor....Any good suggestions for...
Totem solo air vs coil, i am skeptical about running a dh air fork...The boxxer wc has come close to convincing me...however i am not sold. Any drawbacks to the solo air over the coil? I have always trusted coil forks, but love the chance to shed some weight and gain internal travel...

uhh, you untighten the pinch bolts on the non drive side, and then tighten the end cap with the hex wrench, and then tighten the pinch bolts back up. All common sense man ;)
I have waited and endured my 36 on my 07 sxt since june... I know there are more than several people on here that run totems...any trobbles? is it too slack? 180 feel like to much? some times even the fox feels raked when its not sagged. All feedback is very much appricated. And does the solo...

the sx trail does NOT have a short cockpit! I own a 07 and have been ripping on it since june of last year. The bike is THE best bike i have ever owned, I went through a bullit, mountain cycle fury, transition preston, and gran mal...the sx trail blows them away...
