I broke my repaired Giant again and I'm looking for something new. I experimented with 29" wheels like a girl in college, and now I'm looking to have actual fun by going back to smaller wheels.
Who's still making 160-180mm travel range enduro bikes with 27.5 wheels?
So far the pickings seem...
Do they work well as chest protection on MTB's? As I get older I find recovery time takes me longer, and a full face and knee pads isn't as great a combo as it used to be. I'd thought that they were mainly for moto and protecting from the rocks that get kicked up, but I see a lot of people...
I just picked up a used (advertised 2013, no idea if accurate) DHR for my wife to try her hand at downhill bikes and I'm giving it a once over to get it up and running for her.
I'm having some issues with the fork though, and since I have the memory of a goldfish and it's been awhile since I...
I've gotten my wife hooked on mountain biking and we're starting to ride some rowdier trails now that we've gone through a job change and she has less time on call and we've moved back out west to Seattle.
She's also starting to notice the finer details of cockpit ergonomics, and the current...
Has anybody used this thing? My wife and I are going to be doing some night riding and I seem to have lost one of them, and Trek is out of them. Is it worth waiting and putting one on backorder, or should I just go the traditional route and use some sticky adhesive type helmet gopro mount?
In a week I'm moving away from Texas, so I'm looking at mountain bikes again. I haven't had one in 4 years, and am pretty sure I'm a pretty solid candidate for "washed up downhiller"
Fortunately my wife and I are moving somewhere with cool biking apparently, and I'm going to be about 40...
Sorry about linking to... that other place. But I saw some press releases pop up there.

Looks like Brendog missed the cut again, but even bigger, is this the first year Gee hasn't been sent since he started? Crazy to think a multiple DH world champ didn't make the cut.

With a lot of bike geo nerds here, I was thinking about the spillover effect that downhill bikes are having on mountain bikes, and wondering if that's going to eventually transfer over to road bikes. Figured I'd post this in the DH forum in part because everybody who's given this some thought...
I'm looking for a thin light weight platform pedal. Strength and durability aren't as much of a concern as weight. I haven't been keeping up with pedals for awhile, and it seems like there are 80 million options out there these days.
Anybody have any recommendations?
The videos are starting to pop up, or maybe I'm missing the earlier ones.
Looks like an epic trail for a world cup downhill. Straight lining rock gardens, lots of stupid rock walls to catch a handlebar on, generally flat terrain, and an awesome uphill finish on paved roads.
I bet its going...
Thanks boys. I appreciate your hard work in posting KOMS and ensuring semi legal and illegal trails get shut down.

hopefully not a repeat of this http://www.vitalmtb.com/videos/features/Vital-RAW-Cairns-World-Cup-Chaos,25589/iceman2058,94 for 2016.
Questions: Will Loic stay on his bike...
Not that anybody cares that much about sea otter these days, but Ern Gwern just won it.
I think this year is going to be an awesome year for gwin fans and a boring year for everybody else.
so in addition to 12x148 hub standards (thanks trek, glad you didn't go with the already existing 12x150, those 2mm were make or break)
RS just announced moar standards

I just moved out to the PacNorthwest in Langley, British Columbia, and I'm wondering if anybody on these boards has any advice for good places to go ride. I'm going to be here for a year, so I'm hoping to get a nice sampling of some fun trails, but sadly I don't know anybody in the area for a...
So I'm pretty confused, and hopefully somebody in the know on these boards can explain it to me. http://www.vitalmtb.com/news/press-release/Chris-Tutton-of-Race-Face-Purchases-Easton-Cycling,1006

I know its not strictly DH, in fact its a hucker video of people on MX bikes, but its still rad and I still recommend watching it.
