Anyone have any trail recommendations for some riding around Hood River? I know Post Canyon is close, but my wife would rather do some nice flowy single track - any of you have any trails that come to mind?
Thanks!
Yeah. I guess I was wondering if there would be any meaningful advantage in getting a road frame vs. Cx (geometry, faster, etc.) since my commute isn't really far nor rough.
Road conditions are pretty good - not without some potholes and rough road, but no dirt or gravel. As for cargo, I just carry a commuter backpack - no racks or panniers.
For now I'm riding a pretty stiff aluminum frame with 23c tires on it, and everything is working fine, but the frame is too...
I was hoping that you guys would be able to give me some input on picking out a new frame.
I'd like a fairly inexpensive steel frame, and in terms of geometry, I thought I had it narrowed down to the Soma Doublecross or the Surly Crosscheck thinking I could use it for a couple of Cx races...
Thanks for the info guys - that's exactly what I was looking for. I was able to dld a manual, and actually managed to dig up the one that came with it.
Davep - do you remember where you got the seals?
Hey monkies, just wondering if you guys could steer me in the right direction.
I'm looking at rebuilding a 2003/2004 Manitou Firefly and was wondering what kind of seals/parts I'm going to need to complete the task.
I searched online and found some parts available at Cambriabike, but I was...
Get a sig.357 ACP - I was shooting one the other day and it was SO loud that you would probably scare off said animal, or scare yourself enough to the point where you shunt your pants making yourself grossly unappealing to a predatory animal that wants to eat you.
In all seriousness though...
I ordered a set of the Siege headphones w/mic. Ordered Friday, arrived on Wednesday - very nice. :thumb:
Cost - Paid $65 with shipping directly from Siege Audio. After receiving them, I see that you can get them from for $47.97 with free shipping. Oh well.
Sound - Honestly, I think my...
I'll let you know in a week. I just order a set of the Siege's yesterday.
Although I loved the sound of my Shure's, the insulation on the cords cracked, split, then just disintegrated. When I called to inquire about warranty, the Shure CS was terrible. I told them that I didn't need to be...
Thanks for all the useful input. I'm still not sure exactly what I'm going to do yet, but all the comments are consistent with what I've been hearing thus far. The build quality is actually a pretty big factor living up in rainy Seattle.
Thinking about selling my 1D MK-ii to pick up one of these and a new Panasonic ZS3 P&S. What are the drawbacks going to be between the new T1i and the 1D? I know the body of the 1D is a lot more robust (read: tank), but I sometimes feel pretty bogged down with the size and weight. Is the image...
