Nah...at least you got to ride, and were free to go eat lunch, whatever. I was stuck ON the lift. No biggie...it happens. We simply got off, were informed it would be down for troubleshooting, and went to lunch. When we got back...all was fixed. I missed one run...maybe two <shrug>. I've...
Both I and my wife have the RG Flak Jackets. I really like it, except the mesh makes you look like a lizard after you take it off...lol. Lots of air flow, and plenty of protection. As mentioned before the arms are removable, and the spine protector is as well. I take mine off when wearing my...
My wife and I grew up in Penn Hills...graduated '96, etc. I've been going to Dirty Harry's for 15 years. We've bought most of our MTBs from Barry, and stop in when we're home. Sometimes I'll bring Strider (one of our German Shepherds). My first, second, third, and soon to be seventh MTB came...
OK...you're nearby, then. Definitely recommend Boyce. Good mix of trails. Hartwood is great as well...just forget how to get there, and I'm not nearly as familiar with it. If you go to Boyce...I recommend parking in the soccer field lot. Go to the entrance on top of Pierson Run Road on the...
Hey...my wife and I are both from Penn Hills outside of Pittsburgh. Not sure what area of the 'burgh you'll be in, but some popular destinations are Boyce Park...near Monroeville right off the Turnpike, Frick Park in the city, and Hartwood Acres (where the Dirt Rag folks ride). Boyce was my...
The Nittany Lion will not be pleased...but...my wife and I'll be Hokie wannabes for a day in support. We were at PSU during the sniper attack at our student HUB. Not anywhere near the casualties, but just as twisted nonetheless.
Godspeed, Hokies.
I mainly ride at GW National Forest in the Elizabeth Furnace area. No DHing if that's what you're after, but some sweet all mountain action. I'll be at Summit Point all day Saturday on the internal combustion powered bike. Sunday is a question mark. If you want some directions or...
I'm 5'10.5" Used to be 5'11" Don't recommend wrecking into embankments at 30+. Tends to crush things. Anyway. It fits me well. I ride a 19.5" Hollowpoint, but the 17" Sunday is nice. A lot easier to throw around, but doesn't feel "too" small. Just a point of reference for anyone.
Yeah, but I wanted to give the LOCAL Monkies first dibs before I advertise it all over. If someone around here doesn't want it...I'll throw a wider net. Trust me...I'm very familiar with the classifieds here ;-)
Hey, VA Monkies,
I figured I'd post here for a couple days before hitting the national boards, EvilBAY, etc. Wanted to give someone local...ish the chance to get a great deal on a Sunday. Plus...I hate shipping stuff. Especially big, expensive, heavy stuff :twitch:
My best bud bought...
I told you I was gonna do it...some of you didn't believe me. Finally got my hardtail up for sale! Check it out in the crassifieds. Would much prefer to sell it someone fairly local than deal with shipping.

:spam: Figured I'd let the local...ish monkeys know that I've listed my '03 Fuji Professional in the classifieds section.

After I have my Fox Float serviced I'll be listing my hardtail MTB as well. Just planting the seeds...
Sounds like you guys parked in the Signal Knob lot. Off of Fort Valley Road? BIG lot with a lot on either side of the entrance? If you parked to the right, and hit the trailhead there...that's Signal Knob Trail. Great hike...sucky ride. The Buzzard Rock trailhead is off of route 619, not...
Unfortunately I'm not gonna make it. I leave for a short notice TDY Sunday, and have toooooo many things to do around the house, and have to spend the requisite quality time with the Mrs. Look forward to reading about how it went.
Stiff...do you intend to keep doing this on Saturdays? As...
ha
haha
hahahahaha
HAHAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Oh...you're serious. ;) No freeriding to speak of in Frawn Rawal. Like jdschall said, though, GW National Forest offers some great burly XC/All-mountain riding. You definitely wouldn't want to take a FR bike there, though, unless you...
<gasp!> SK6...I'm hurt! LOL! Yeah...some sick dude decided to take a picture of my impromptu bandage after taking a header, so I used it as my avatar. Wonder who that guy could be? My memory ain't so good...know what I mean, Mr. "What happened?"
BURN!
Weather.com for Wintergreen Resort/Nellysford is calling for rain all day Friday, then a 30% chance of rain Saturday AM with a high in the mid-50's. Figure 40 or so in the morning.
Not sure if I'm going. They're saying 100% chance of rain and HIGH winds for Front Royal on Saturday. Don't...
I'm down. I live just north of the bustling metro Front Royal area...yeah...joke. I prefer the standard Furnace ride or others out there vs. Buzzard Rock, but I'm willing to ride whatever. Prefer more riding vs. hiking, but, hey...gotta mix it up a bit.
Hold up...they're seriously not running the lift? They haven't had it working all season, and now that it's fixed (isn't it?) they are still gonna truck us back up? Hmmm...I may save my cash and spend the last hurrah at Diablo next weekend.
