just so you know, most companies only extend the warranty to the original owner. i only know of one bicycle company at all that doesn't care. best case is that they sell you what you need really cheap.
you may have some issues getting anywhere near leg extension, the seat tube is pretty short. i can't on my short and i am 5' 10". also the 2008 frames do not have guides for a front derailleur. other than that it would be a super fun bike. i got a 2008 frame a month ago and it is the best...
i have been racing mountain bikes since 1992 and downhill since '98 all but the first year have been at the expert level, maybe i am just lucky, but that is a lot of luck. i think part of it is the persons riding style, i do not plow through obstacles. i don't crash very often, but when i do, it...
never broken or bent a derailleur in 16 years of racing all kinds of bikes. i have mostly run shimano but i have one bike now with x9 and i have had 4 or 5 bikes with sram in the past. i prefer shimano as a mechanic but sram definately has a few good ideas. i like the shifters and the way the...
atomlab pedals do not have c clips any more. they all connect with a bolt that goes in the end of the spindle so that the pedal cannot fall of of the body ever. all atomlab pedals have bushings and no bearings. i have been running their pedals since the late 90's and i have never had a bushing...
i have a flite saddle from the early ninties and a king headset from 91(before they even etched king on the cups)and an xtr post from the early ninties also.
it is an SE BMflyer, just a basic aluminum frame and fork, but i had the 26 inch version and it was really close, the 29er feels a little faster in the rough, but not like suspension. the trails i ride are really rocky with lots of step ups and downs and a 4 inch 26er feels good there , i just...
Uhh NO. they roll over stuff better, but they do not make up for a lack of suspension. my single speed rigid 29er is just as rough as my 26er, it is just faster.
i am looking to get a new 29er and i want a full suspension frame this time. i would like something around 3 or 4 inches of travel. i would like to know every brand of 29er full suspension that you guys can think of. i am not a fan of fisher, so they are out, but pretty much everything else is a...
some shops may have it, but there is a hanger that is available from every shops distributors that is super cheap, it will fit most horizontal dropouts.
chrome would be very cool. i would not worry about the chrome cracking or affecting the tollerances, hundreds of thousands of bmx frames are out there that work just fine. 75 percent of all bmx frames from the 80's are chrome and they held up fine. if it were not for environmental issues i think...
just to make sure, the versus frame uses a 68mm bottom bracket, are they selling you an 83mm bottom bracket when you need a 68 or do you need an 83 and they took a 68 off of a bike to let you use it. they are not compatible, you may just need to wait for the right size.
i still have a strike from 2005, it rides pretty decent, it is a little more suited for tight slow stuff, but the quality of the travel is very good. the headtube is pretty tall, but everything else feels good.
i have broken my left wrist twice and my right one 3 times. unless you need a ton of support i have had extremely good luck with the fox gloves that have a wrist wrap built in(i forget the exact model) i never get sore wrists when i wear them and i almost always get sore wrists without them.
