My Surf club Karekare Had the annual surfing contest for all of us surf patrol members.
The surf was crap yesterday ( varied from 2ft to out of control 8ft ).
but I won a bottle of chardonay for my efforts. (last year I got a bottle of vodka for the best wipeout ( a 6ft over the falls roll bowl & a*shole).

Heh heh the stakes are high to win that one .
This years winner took a bad late drop and fell top to bottom on a triple over head, went over the falls snaped his leash, snaped his board, got a blood nose & black eye from going face first into the sandbar!!! and had the rash vest ripped off him while getting belted around. and then coped the rest of the 8ft set on his head (3 waves ) before he could get the hell out of the inpact zone.
He really deserved every last drop of that vodka and then some!
