Hoping to ride my mtb third day in a row but need to make sure I am safe after last nights snow storm.

Yesterday was nice as I did not end up with a pound of mud on the bike. I still have some fit issues on the bike and one adjustment will affect the others. Maybe seat further back. Maybe higher bar. Maybe longer stem. Not something I am an expert in so it will take some time to get it right.

Ahhh ok you are a bike porn kind of guy. Sorry no Onlyfane acount yet but here is a free one!
Nah, too big and too black for my liking. ;)

Seriously, nice ride! Lots of seatpost showing, did you get a too small frame?

That is before first ride and seatpost had been lowered by. It's not much higher than top of bar right now. Just lowered it more as I moved the seat further back as I have a long femur. I might get a 35mm rise bar vs the 27mm that came stock. No option to move the stem higher up unfortunately. Will to dial in the seatpost height and seat position first before bar changes. Strange bike companies do not deliver bike with uncut steer for us with less than perfect build.

Hey bruv! I've thrown two English muffins and some coffee down the food hole and headed out for a run in a bit... somewhere between 10 and 20 miles depending on how I feel.

it was raining so heavy last night that at 3am it overwhelmed the capacity of my rain gutters, insane. It had got to be slamming kidwoo and Tahoe with shitloads of new snow. Major avalanche danger anywhere in the Sierras right now

Had to call an electrician last night. Main panel was crackling, likely arcing, due to corrosion. He got it all cleaned up and it's good, for now, but I do believe the timeline for replacement just got accelerated. He said the risk of it catching fire was imminent, so that's cool.

Rain, again. New policy, if it’s gunna rain I want comical amounts, none of this too wet to play outside but not enough to justify collecting two of every animal malarkey

Pork butt goes on the smoker in a couple hours, should probably plan for extra time due to prevailing weather conditions.

Good birthday party for the kiddo yesterday. Maybe had a beer too many afterwards as I passed out on the couch. Introduced him to breakfast burritos this morning (he loved it) and fresh OJ.

In hell. Welcome!
Rode, snow was not very good but better than not riding at all, so I have that going for me, which is nice. Might have been the last snow ride of the season.

Bills. Signing up for gymnastics all year long in advance because classes with 6 spots only having 2 left sucks. At least that expense is dealt with.

Haley's race calendar is in place - one pre-season race next month, six CO tour races, then one post-season race. She'll be missing one because we have a family trip to CA that weekend.

Wifey has decided that she is over having the Pilot and wants her Q7. She's reversed position on an electric SUV going forward, since there is no electric Q7 at this point and she wants a new car soon. Fucking thing isn't even paid off yet. IF we do it, it will be an off-lease or higher mileage (50-60k) since the depreciation is massive by that point and eating $4-5k for the higher mileage service that I will need to do within 1yr anyways is still cheaper. At least this option allows us to get a loan through MIL1, so any interest will be going to her and creating cashflow vs. me having to deal with T-Bills monthly. Still a massive pain in my ass, but amusingly the monthly will be cheaper because luxury cars have massive depreciation vs. things like Pilots. But the extra service costs will add up... So if I get this promotion it will be just exhausting it on the new car cost.

Edit: I have been corrected. 2019 is "an old car". So much for that option... apparently Wifey thinks we're fucking wealthy and can afford an $80k car. She missed the memo that her friends that have those type of cars either buy 50k mile cars or work in such a way that they can lease them and effectively negate the cost of the car. That latter group being levered to the tits, so when things go sideways it's game over for their lifestyle.

Edit 2: Success! She wants one with the recent updates, which are as of 2021. Those aren't off lease yet, so I just bought another year.

Also, Wife gave me "permission" to buy the new Garmin I've been eyeballing. Permission, because the thing costs $1000 and married folks usually talk about expenditures that big. It's totally an unnecessary toy that I can certainly live without, but I never buy anything and it is just something I want. It is the Garmin Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar. ohhhhhhhh, ahhhhhhhh

I have so much truck envy right now. Seriously, that is about my dream set up. I really need to find a pre-87 crewcab…and a bunch of time.

If they release an 840 edge solar I'll need to hunt for quarters down the sofa.

@stoney what he means is, can he get a low interest loan for his new merc from your MIL?
@Toshi This is correct. MIL1 has a bunch of money sitting in T-Bills for short-term cash. She's been refusing to hold anything less than 1 full year in cash. I would basically be taking a few months of the short-term cash I've been trying to get invested and instead putting it into a medium-term high-grade bond at a better yield than I can get elsewhere. Because it's "in-house" as well, it also stays w/in her trust, so if she dies before it's paid off, the loan cancels. Not that it's the plan, but it's just part of broader estate planning.

I still give her market rate. Honestly, higher than I should, since I can only get her a medium-term bond around 3% vs. a 5yr from me at 4.5%.

And I'm not sure I could get away with that one.

What’s the going rate on a bass guitar loan? I’m not saying I need one but if the price is right…
