Thanks Cecil, and yes she'll be playing this summer! She's been out a couple times already this year.

Matt,
Thanks, and no the stickers didn't come that way, those are totally custom one-offs. Actually I'm just an old dork that way, and had some GT stickers. Yes, it's a single pivot, the main pivot bearings are onepointfive bearings while the BB/I-Drive bearings are 1 1/8" internal headset bearings.
Nice Kenda's!!!!!! You would think for a boy working at Michelin you would have some on you bad a$$ ride.

very nice bike. as for shaving some weight, front tire could drop to 2.5, sram doesnt make road stuff, so going to a real road cassette like shimano is a tad lighter, the seat and post could be changed for an ibeam and i fly, and i guess if you have the money, a ti king HS is a great option. also, i know saints are super nice cranks, but they arent the lightest, but that bike is amazing anyways, have fun!
Sram makes 2 road groups and has been making road casettes for a LONG time

Why would you go putting ti bolts on and not get a WC boxxer, seems like it would be better lb/$ ratio.

Boxxers:
difference in cost = $600
difference in weight = .7lbs = 320g

so .533g/$ or $2 per gram

I can think of a lot of places/components that are a much better ratio. As far as ti is concerned, a big 10mm pivot bolt for about $10 will save more than 5 grams for sure. So although you would not knock off 300g in ti fastners, they are less $/g than a boxxer WC upgrade.

I know the Burgtec hubs and pedals are crazy expensive. The pedals alone are $250. Are they worth the extra money?

Auckland (North Island).

Shame the best riding is in the South Island eh?

Just been for a road trip down there with some firends... the ski fields have cottoned on to the 'hey we can make money in the summer too!' thing and are starting to build dh tracks.

this year was good, but a bit limited for choice. If they keep building at the same rate though, next year and then on... all you northern hemisphere yobs will be flying here for your winter training.

Already added my bike to the avy thread, but only cool people go there so i will add it to the weight weenie thread as well.

Turner 04 DHR modded to approx 7.8inchs rear travel
Boxxer air WC's modded to approx 7.3inchs travel
Saint brakes / cranks
XTR drivetrain
Hadley on 721's with maxxis tubless rim strips (thanks kidwoo), tubless DHF minions
Thomson pole, sdg seat, FSA fr-200 stem, easton 1inch bar

It feel fairly light, somewhere between 1-60lbs at a guess.

sram doesnt make road stuff
Nope, they do now. If you look at their website, they have the all new "high end" road stuff called Force as well as another one called Rival They even make casettes and chains. Now, I don't know if these parts are compatible with Sram trigger shifters like Shimano...
