Not me! 2" rise wides!I'm starting to see a lot of flat bars and I'm scared...
I figured the best way to dump some weight was with the biggest part...the frame.
40 lbs is still just a dream for me. It's sitting mid 43's and I don't know of many more places to cut weight without spending lots to get little. The frame itself is the big anchor weighing everything down. I've never had much luck with lighter rims.

Thanks, and I wasn't pointing at you Seb. I've followed your posts over the years, there's no doubting your weights. That looks well nice, great photo mate!
Regarding authenticity of weights here, I'm presuming that's aimed at me since there's not many dipping below 37lb here

She now sits at a nice 40.45lbs.
I gotta say, I'd like to weigh it on some of the scales I see in this thread, some of them seem.....ummm....optimistic
Well they certainly look narrower than my michelin 2.2s, I'll give you that! Doesn't really bother me though, they seem grippy enough, and I run tubeless so don't tend to pinch.I bought a pair of those same UST Highroller 2.35's and the weight was similar to yours but those size of the tires is closer to 2.1's than 2.35's. In fact, I have 2.1's that are wider. I was not very pleased. I guess that is why you can get such a good deal on Ebay on these. They are only half way useable as a rear tire in my opinion.
I'd need to see your math it you think your Deemax saved 2-3 lbs over Hadley/Formula & 729's. By going Hope Pro II's & 721's I can shed just under a pound. Unless you've got the "factory racer" helium filled hubs, I don't think it's possible. On that Norco I would consider different wheels if you want to drop some serious weight. I used to have similar wheels as you but switched to Mavic DeeMax wheels and tubeless tires and that easily accounted for 2 to 3 lbs weight loss. The wheels are pretty much bombproof too! I'm a 240lbs rider and tough on wheels. They last a long time if you clean and re-oil the freehub body every few months.
Going to a 40rc2 would drop a pound, boxxer WC 1.5lbs if you felt the need. Are you running it tubeless btw?
Looks sweet all cleaned up!
Man, those Blindsides look really top heavy. Kinda looks funny with the bulk up high and a big honking gap down low. I don't get why people find them so cool looking.my blindside
didn't think of them that way till you said that. thanks for ruining it for meMan, those Blindsides look really top heavy. Kinda looks funny with the bulk up high and a big honking gap down low. I don't get why people find them so cool looking.
I guess there's plenty of people who like the way they look. Otherwwise I doubt Transition would be selling so many...didn't think of them that way till you said that. thanks for ruining it for me
Naw, my old front wheel was about 4-5 seasons old. It was time or retirement. I have a new set of hope stuff on the way from orange for this year.Yep, tubeless with Stan's strips.
The Fox 40 is about a half lb. lighter than the 888 WC. We weighed one last night. My 888 is 7.38lbs and the 40 RC we weighed last night was 6.92lbs. I really like the feeling of a Marzocchi, I won't be changing any time soon.
You don't have a front to match the rear Hope/721 do you Fraser?
About all I plan on looking at is wheelsets, everything else is how I like it. I can pick up a DHX air for really cheap but I really like the feel of a coil.
to be honest, me tooI don't feel the Blindside love either. Probably rides good though!
Eren, I liked your DHR better.
