depends how rough you are on your rims.
2 years ago at 60kg weight and pretty smooth tracks I destroyed 6.1 in 1 week. Know one 50kg kid with very smooth technique that had serious issues with 5.1. I don't think it depends on anything. They just hold for a very limited time.

Frame: 2007 Demo 8 w/Mg link
Fork: Boxxer Race
Wheels: Azonic Outlaws Ghetto Tubeless
Brakes: Avid Code
Crankset: Gravity Lite
Bars: Gravity Lite
Seatpost: Thompson Elite
Saddle: Selle something
Pedals: Axiom Roadgap II
Chainring: 35t e.13 Guide Ring
Chainguide: e.13 LG1
Stem: Funn RSX
Grips: Spank Lockon
Derailleur: Sram x9
Shifter: Sram x7
Cassette: Pg980
Chain: Pgsomething

I'm guessing that it's sub 40. Bathroom scale says 38, but not sure how accurate that is.

Good looking bike there! Im on a mission to try different bikes this year for fun! Im not swaying from the Canfield bikes at all but I want to ride a DW link, FSR and possibly a high single pivot this year just to do so.

40lbs is definently the target weight to be under! :thumb:

Based on looks on side profile are thos 2.35's?

This is/was my race bike for 2 of the 3 races that I made it to this year.

Frame: '05 Foes Fly with Curnutt shock and steel 350spring
Fork: '08 Boxxer WC(flat crown) Enduro seals, 2.5wt oil in damper, 110psi(Northwest Bike tech built)
Headset: Race Face Deus
Stem: Sunline Direct mount
Bars: Sunline V1
Grips: Odi Ruffian Lock on
Shifter: Sram XO(modified shift levers) W/Left hand MatchMaker clamp
Cable: Yokozuna Jet lubed housing, Shimano sealed 4mm endcaps, Shimano SS derailleur cable
Derailleur: '05 Sram Xsplat(my der. is old and the XO no longer says XO, it looks like X with a smeered O, we call it Xsplat)
Chain: KMC K10SL
Chainring: Race Face Diablous 36t
Chainguide: Gamut 36T specific
Cassette: Sram/Ultegra modified casette. It started as a 12-27t Ultegra, I've swapped in the light Sram lock ring, 11t cog, and the lower sram cogs up to 15t as they are lighter than the Shimano.
Bottom Bracket: Turavativ ISIS Heavy as F***
Cranks: Bontrager Race Light SS 170mm
Pedals: CrackNFail from something like '05
Seat: Bontrager Race X Light(carbon base, slight padding, Hollow Ti rails)
Seat Post: Bontrager Race X Light ACC
Clamp: Stock Foes
Front tire: Kenda Telonix DH casing 2.5
Rear tire: Tioga Factory DH 2.1R
Tubes: Ultracycle 2.125 standard tubes
Wheels: Northwest Bike Tech custom built sub 1950g wheels
Front Hub: WTB Laser Disc SuperDuty 32h 20mm
Front Rim: WTB Laser Disc Freeride 32h
Front Spokes: DT Swiss Aerolite
Front Nipples: DT Swiss Alloy red anodized
Rear Hub: WTB LaserDisc Superduty 150mm
Rear Rim: WTB LaserDisc Freeride 32H
Rear Spokes: DT Swiss Aerolite
Rear Nipples: DT Swiss Alloy red anodized
Brakes: Avid Juicy Carbon
Front Rotor: Hope 203mm Floating rotor
Front Rotor bolts: 6 Ti bolts
Rear Rotor: Avid Somethingorother 160mm
Rear Rotor bolts: 5 Ti bolts
Computer: Trek Incite 11i

Notes: The rear spring is too heavy for me. I'm 6' 150lbs with gear I should be running like a 250spring. I kind of like the stiffer rear suspension. It feels pretty good.

Upgrade before next season:
Pedals: Welgo MG1 Ti. I sold my old MG1's with my Orange P7 and need a new pair
Bashring: Gamut light guard. I've got some sitting in the shop, I'm just not sure on going with black or white.
Chain Ring: Gamut guide ring 36t
Front tire: I'm really liking the Telonix. I'll save some weight dropping to the Freeride casing.
Tubes: I usually run a 24" standard tube, I'll switch back to those when after I get more in stock.
Bottom Bracket: Either an American Classic Split ring or Fsa Platinum Pro maybe the Ti version.
Spring: Curnutt 250 Ti spring or Avy 11x3 rear shock with ti spring.
Stem: Point One Racing
Headset: I usually have a CrankBro's Direct set. I'm waiting on the warrantied one to come back.
Grips: Sunline Thin White lock on
Floating Rod: I'll either remove it or order a Brake Therapy carbon rod.
Stem Cap: I'll switch out my alloy CrankBros for a carbon FSA with alloy bolt when we next order from FSA
Ti bolts: Ti bolts in the linkage, shock, seat clamp, stem and fork. I'm light and not a hack when I ride. The ti bolts in my rotos, and brakes are holding up great.
Chainring bolts: Red alloy chainring bolts.
Brake Lines: Red Goodridge SS lines
Shifter housing: Nokon Red shift housing with power chords cable.
Cassette: Shimano DuraAce or XTR cassette

Custom machine work will be done to the front brake adapter, linkage, and rear brake mount. I have a friend who co-owns a machine shop and we've discussed stress risers and decided that machining sections out of the specidied ares will not cause a significant enough stress riser to cause any issues. Stress analysis says there will be a rise in stress but VERY minimal.

It's about time for another complete teardown/rebuild on the fork. I got the '08 Boxxer in July of '07 waiting on my M3 to arrive. I've got 2 seasons on it. I'll order new lowers, all seals, and upgrade the oil from the poo Finishline in it. I usually use the Finish line in lower end forks that come in for repair to keep costs down. Upper end forks typically get Buzzy's shock oil, however I only the the FinishLine in 2.5wt so I've been using that without problems. I think I'll swap the Speedstack back in too. I've got a couple bottles of silkolene oil on order and I'm going back to the 5wt with the silkolene.

I should drop down close to 35.5lbs with the changes.

Here is my shred sled. Just got it down to 39.87lbs which is pretty good. I'm going to be switching to an lg1 chain guide and replace the fender with a cut up tube to cut a little extra weight.

Dooood that has to be at least 40.35 lbs. Where are you getting this extra 0.48 lbs from???? I want pics on a scale....

post 1500 and I agree with Linder! Weight seems a bit underestimated.
In his defense maybe he read the scale wrong and it was 49.87lbs or he meant without frame! :thumb:
Either way that thing has got to be PLUSH as a sofa on the nasty stuff and instill confidence on drops! 2 :thumb:'s up for the beefy build.

I call 46lbs+ on that bike. Isn't that fork like 9+lbs. 2.8" to 3" tires. Come on man........
Dude you are so wrong about 46lbs+! First, the larger tires hold more air so its lighter, period. Second, that's the new Monster T Air. The Monster T Air is just as light as the New Boxxer WC since the larger tube dia. can hold more air so once again its lighter. And the frame was completely inflated with helium so, booyah its wicked light!

I expect more from you Mr. Linder......

M'a RaceBike Dragster DH (s) hits 39 lbs... but weight was not such a target as pure reliability.

I colud go for lighter seat, Ti spring, 721s and lighter tubes... or lose them fully, but that's all the weight i'm willing to lose... after all i'm 190lbs and... any less weight could turn up to be a bad investment :pirate2:

I'm well under 40, with a little bit of scope for some more, or a lot if I want to ditch the 40's for the new Boxxers. But i've got them working how I want them at long last so I don't think I can do it, just for the sake of some weight.

That's an Stoy on there, no? I found the vivid to be an improvement over the dhx, just curious what you think of the Bos so far. which shock were you running before?

Yes, its a Stoy.

I didn't run it with the DHX so I can't really compare. I sold the DHX new to pay for the Stoy as it would have needed to be PUSH'd anyway so it didn't cost much more.

I ran a CCDB on my Socom before, would have liked to have run that on the Sunday but I have read a lot about them not working very well due to the Sunday's leverage ratio, which is a shame.

So far so good though. It feels just like a well set up shock should do to me.

Durability I shall see, the UK winter will be a good test!

My Trek Session 88. Weighing in at 40 and a bit pounds with Intense 4 ply rubber in the rear. Looking for 38 ish with my DH16's run tubeless.
Will also be putting new style Saint cranks on when the 165's become available.
Tempted by some 09 Deemax wheels in pimpy silver too ;)
