Update:

Comes to right around 40lbs. Last time I weighed it it came to 40.13lbs, with Syncros seat and different pedals (only 30g diff) . Since then I've shortened up the hoses and housing, swapped the seat, and installed new lowers.

I know this says 40 lbs but I see a couple rigs around the 42-43 pound mark, so check out this beast at 43lbs. 43 lbs is heavy these days for racing but not for a steel brooklyn beast double diamond warrior. Lets see somebody keep up with this 43 pounder at plattekill with your puny 38lbs boxer bike...lol...????

Funny, accurate, demented, you make the call. I'm just used to finishing up at the chairlift first. Unless I'm riding with Doc or Geoff Ulmer. I'm also expecting to get alot more runs in with that rig while people are swapping wheels out in the parking lot..

The frame is 13 lbs stock, you can save alot just by playing with the plastic bits and dozens of bolts, spacers etc. I still haven't used a ti axle, or spring yet. 42 by next year....?????

Ti spindle and spring alone would get you under 42.

If you could get your hands on one of the ti floating brake arms that Doc made once upon a time that'd be even more. But I doubt anyone that has one would be willing to part with it.

They had one last I checked. You could also get a carbon bar from brake therapy. I'd ditch the gustavs and get a newer (lighter) set of brakes.

Great, now you've got me looking for a racelink again.

ok here is my jedi, it weighs 38.06 lbs. nothing on it that i wouldn't trust and nothing XC about it (except the seat maybe?). It is mainly used for FR/shuttle/resort days. im going to get into racing next year though.

sad thing is it could be lighter and still be burly. could do avid elixir cr's, UST minions, and a road cassette and drop another 1 - 1.5 lbs. don't feel it really needs to be lighter though. i do like how the elixirs feel better though so maybe down the line.

I would like to try to keep up with that 43lber (on my 46lb VPF!)

You heading up to Platte soon? I have 2 days up there this year, and that is teh fail! I might head up this weekend, but then I said that the last 2 (and let the BS weather report put me off!)

Well you have a point but the bike sags around %45 percent (and i don't clip rocks) with a static bb of 13.9" as you see it. I get into a really nice position when riding/racing and balance over my suspension is prime.

Being the bos distributor in Australia and being a self confessed Vouilloz and olivier bossard fan, i go along their theories and set up tips.

It's done nothing but good for my riding and my bike set up.

how the hell did you get to 43lbs with a 13 lb frame? my banshee scream is a 14ish lb frame and i couldnt get it past 46 lbs. super t, alum cranks, single ply tires and ti rear coil :rant:

My Racelink was under 41 from memory. If you search, you'll find it somewhere on here, maybe this thread, maybe the BMW porn thread.
It had a ti brake arm and 40s I think, could have been lighter still.
I still have the Ti brake arm, if you want to buy it PM me, I'm in Australia though, don't think shipping would be much, weighs sweet F A.

i've yet to have issues with the smaller bearings of the ISIS bottom brackets. as long my crankarm bolts are torqued to spec, i very seldom have them loosen. nor do i have the ability to generate crazy amounts of power to notice any flex in the spindle. on my former 4x bike, the BB was low and i would bash my pedals and crankarms with some regularity, i've never broken a spindle or noticed any creaking. ISIS has worked well for me, so i'll keep using it until it blows up and then upgrade to outboard bearing cranksets.
