LMFAO ! No there is no such thing. youre all set.

although, seriously speaking, you will have the be sure the wheel is dished for 150mm spacing. hopefully there is enough spoke to dish it, otherwise, you'll have to re-lace it. no big deal though.

And heres the wheel:

Of course the fork is dirty. But with a littl TLC it will be looking nice. And I am kind go wanting to go dual Kings hubs instead of Hadley up front.....

I've not had a chance to ride it properly yet, but it feels super sweet. It's got Halo Choirboy lites for tyres, which look pretty good.
I think I'm gonna lose a few of the stickers as well, to clean it up a bit.

I broke my Racelink :(

First ride in an age, and i manage to break it... It's just not my day..

Snapped the bolt holding the left link arm to the front triangle.. I've now got half a bolt stuck in the threads in my frame, and i've lost all the little bits that go in the end to make it pivot smoothly :(:(:(

On the plus side, the bike functioned perfectly with one link arm, and i didnt notice untill i was half way down the road to the van. Odd.

Not happy.

sorry to hear that. you'll have to get the internals of the pivot from BMW most likely. are the needle bearing still inside the link or is it totally empty? There are like 7 pieces inside that single end you lost. ( 1 bolt, 2 o-rings, 2 end caps, 1 sleeve and 1 needle bearing assembly)

the real sucky part is the bolt that broke off on the frame. just consult with BMW and get their suggestion of how best to get it out. there are a couple ways that it is done. i would personally take the fork off, rear wheel off, brake arm ETC off the frame and have a quality machine shop perform whatever BMW suggests. if there is enough bolt showing, which it probably isnt, you can weld a rod to the bolt and then weld a handle to that rod and just turn it out. basicall welding a T handle to the bolt. otherwise they have taps that are reverse thread and the bolt can easily be backed out.

It's all just metal and can be dealt with. Be glad you do not have an aluminum frame.

joel

Aye, i've emailed Doc seeking the best advice, didnt think of the welding a t handle on to get it out, but the frames fully stripped so they have a blank easy canvas to work with..

I'm pretty sure (Looking at my other link arm for referance), i've just lost one end cap (the inside one closest to the frame) and an o-ring, all the needle bearing assembly and stuff is still in there, so it's minimal parts aswell..

No bolt showing unfortunately, but once i've got a verdict from doc it's go to a designated place, and i'l let ya'll know what happens.

Use a drill and a eazy-out and the bolt will come right out You have to lock tight those bolts. It happens because the bolt is loose.

Not questioning your knowledge or owt, but are you sure? Can they come loose without it being noticed on the outside, i mean like internally or something? Cos' i know most of the bolts on my bike are close to un-moveable, the supposed "bike mechanic" who owned it before me certainly liked tighetning bolts up with something very long! Thankgod there so deep, normal shallow ones would have just rounded trying to get them out...

Thanks for the tip on the eazy-out, i'l look into it.

quck question everyone, ive had my racelink a good while now, and ive allways wondered why my swingarm and my frame are different numbers, my frame being #34 and the swingarm #31? ime ususure if this was just a mistake, its meant to be like that, or its been replaced at some point in its life. i know adys is the same both swingarm and frame... any help appreciated

and also when rebuilding last night, i was putting my right crank (non-driveside) back on the axle, remembering that it used to have a load of spacers on, i just plonked them on and thought no more, untill ady pointed out that the axle stud was miles away from the frame, instead of like the other one being as close as possible. so i took it all off and tried it without spacers, and discovered it wouldnt tighten, due to the axle being too damn long, now ime surprised at this, because i was under the impression that there were no axles wider than racelinks, but mine appears to be even wider... any idea where i can get a "normal" or shorter axle from, i will go measure it when i take my cranks off next time
