I'll have Chris Kovarik's and Claire Buchar's up soon. I should be picking up the helmets from THE by the end of the month.Just gunna dredge this one up as there must be a few new season helmets in the mix now.
I thought about doing that but opted out. I have to save my book of leaf for a big project I'm working on now. That graphic started as HoK orion silver. All the Unit logos were masked off and then a HoK solar yellow was sprayed. everything was taken off and I sprayed the whole helmet with HoK pagan gold kandy..including the carbon fiber. It's hard to see in the picture but the carbon is tinted gold, it looks pretty sick in the light.Hey Luke, are those Unit logos gold leaf or what?
pretty cool! what did she use? looks kinda like paint markers. for a glossy finish, you are gonna want to tape EVERYTHING off. check on the type of paint and/or markers she used...oil or water color markers are gonna have to be dusted with clear lightly before it's built up. urethane clears are pretty strong and I know there have been issues with clearing over some materials with them...but that's how you make 'em shinyI gave my cousin a helmet I crashed in last season to play around with. She does a lot of pretty cool cartoon-ish art, so I figured she would bust out something completely different than most. Here's the result:
Any advice on how to get it to the super nice glossy finish?
I have only a Shimano vinyl on my bike and helmet, and that's because Shimano sponsored my college project (super efficient hydrogen vehicle). It's for a female BMX Race rider... member of a Dutch 'factory team' which is sponsored by MONSTER energy and DC shoes.
Unlike others just slapping on stickers ie. Pro-rider wannabees.
Not quite sure what she used... but paint markers does kind of ring a bell. TLD's D3 has that on a sticker under the visor.Saw a guy one time at a DH race who had his insurance card taped to the back of his helmet. Having all your vitals, blood type, etc stenciled into a back corner of your helmet would be pretty cool.
Yep, same for my TLD air.TLD's D3 has that on a sticker under the visor.
Burn through pages 1-5 and find posts by JDD, Luke D & GeneralLeeI just bought a fox v3r carbon in the o negative colorway. not a big fan of the graphics, was wondering what all would be involved in getting it to the bare carbon and finish with a nice glossy clear coat. and how difficult it is. worried about damaging the carbon
