I'd rather have my 395 lb/ft (when it was stock) on #2 diesel, $16k pickup.
only people from sussex county are hicks...im from morrisIs that right y'all
Must be nice...mine's a highway hauler special, no 4wd option here. I bought it used and the original owner was a snowbird who used it to move his 5th wheel to Florida and back to Vermont, beyond that I don't think it ever got driven.4wd.
Woohoo! Lots of redneck chest-thumping going on now! Must almost be Christmas.
Yeah. Michelins for summer on one set of rims, studded Haks on four more rims for winter.where?
Does anyone have multiple set of rims with different tires for different conditions... like many of us do for our bikes?
There are $hitloads of rednecks in this country. How else would you explain the top selling vehicle and 8 years of GWB?top two vehicles sold in the US were pickups

so what you driving?
That's not a truck, it's a Dakota.its not a car. its a truck
You got a bass box back there?true, theres no room for a gun rack since i took out the back seats
Yeah, I've owned the truck for 5 years or so now and can still count the times I would have used 4wd on one hand.4wd is nice but I try not to use it. I was raised to use 2wd until you got stuck then 4wd to get back out.
You guys live places that don't get 4 feet of snow, don't you?Yeah, I've owned the truck for 5 years or so now and can still count the times I would have used 4wd on one hand.
It's just more evidence that supports my theory.http://www.bftrules.com/index.asp
its a ford, but you get the point
It's not 4 feet yet, but we got snow:You guys live places that don't get 4 feet of snow, don't you?
Yeah - I'm talking 4 feet at one time and no snowplows. It's not 4 feet yet, but we got snow:
A minivan with snow tires and a 10 year old Subaru.so u still havent said what grocery getter you got
manly. do you have a "baby on board" placard too?
Some of us are actually secure in our masculinity. Others don't seem to be so much.manly.
I would, but they were all out.do you have a "baby on board" placard too?
Dammit! That's much more eloquent than my response. So having a truck makes you a man?
The rest of us just have penises.
We get storms on par with denver. My '67 bus got around denver for 6 years on nothing more than bong hits and wishful thinking.Yeah - I'm talking 4 feet at one time and no snowplows.
You must have been here during the Time It Didn't Snow.We get storms on par with denver. My '67 bus got around denver for 6 years on nothing more than bong hits and wishful thinking.
you actually didn't go anywhere, you just sat in the back, got baked and *thought* you were actually moving...We get storms on par with denver. My '67 bus got around denver for 6 years on nothing more than bong hits and wishful thinking.
It 'rarely' snows in denver compared to my family's place in evergreen. When it snowed heavy I drove my 79 4x4 subie wagon but the bus had great clearance, low gearing and plenty of weight over the drive wheels. With decent tires it would go most anywhere, including many '4x4 only' mining and forest roads (summer). You must have been here during the Time It Didn't Snow.
We've had several multi-foot storms in the last 5 years in which your bus would've gone nowhere for at least 3 days, depending on how close to a "main road" you were.
Hey! It's snowing right now... kind of all of a sudden. It 'rarely' snows in denver compared to my families place in evergreen.
Cool. I'm coming out there Jan 1-9 to see my mom and hopefully getting a few days in at either steamboat or vail. It's time for my 4yo to learn to ski.Hey! It's snowing right now... kind of all of a sudden.
I'd recommend da Boat. Vail sucks.Cool. I'm coming out there Jan 1-9 to see my mom and hopefully getting a few days in at either steamboat or vail. It's time for my 4yo to learn to ski.
Out here the main requirement for really rough jeep trails is a VERY low gear. Which most standard tran vehicles don't have. Unless they have a xfer case.I had a friend that had a '69 VW bus. We took it down a pretty rough Jeep trail wil relative ease. Small overhangs and lots of ground clearance is mostly all you need on dry trails.
My 67 had reduction gears which made for great crawling ability but also meant a 53.6mph top speed.Out here the main requirement for really rough jeep trails is a VERY low gear. Which most standard tran vehicles don't have. Unless they have a xfer case.
Unless you don't mind burning out your clutch.
My Subaru needs a xfer case.
Subaru deserves a swift kick in the nuts for not offering a transfer case in US spec'd vehicles. My 67 had reduction gears which made for great crawling ability but also meant a 53.6mph top speed.
The 79 subie had 4wd hi/lo - that thing went everywhere and had the body panels to prove it.
