I dont' see why not. If she doesn't ride, there are plenty of activities planned in town this weekend too....it's their fall festival. I hear there will even be Trout River there on Saturday :happydance:

"A beer tent with local Trout River Beer"

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this will be the beer tent's best year for sales. :D

no, as in me plus 2, I will let you know no later than Monday morning if I am "plus one" or "plus two"

ps:veggie girl, is vegatarian (duh) but will eat dairy, eggs, etc

thanks T Saw !!
I assumed (the veggie thing) and will plan accordingly. I am actually toying with making some spinach & ricotta tortelloni in a creamy tomato sauce with salad and fresh bread for dinner followed by some homemade apple crisp or pie for dessert (in lieu of cake). Breakfast will include blueberry pancakes and ??? for the second day. I am always happy to offer veggie options.

Let me know about the +1 or +2 thing!

Avoiding the nine to five
I have money in hand for this trip, however after driving 1,800 miles by myself in the last 3 days I am getting stir crazy in the car. If anyone is leaving and has a place in their car for a skinny Californian and his bigwheeled bike I will be there in a heart beat. I'm currently in Michigan, heading to Rochester and planning on a trip to Manhattan to visit friends. If you are anywhere in that region let me know and I'll make the drive with you.

I figure this trip is well worth it, I just can't stand driving my car another 16+ hours by myself. I've exhausted my CD collection and filled up every page in my notebook. :banghead:

Let's ride though!:happydance:

There is a chance I'll go. I am still unemployed and money supplies are dwindling....not good...but there's a decent chance.

So, I'll think it over and see in the next day or so.

Also- Ito- if I go, you can certainly come with me. I live about 35 miles from Manhattan in northern NJ. If I go, then you could either take the bus or drive to my house. It is very easy to get to. If you'd be willing to do that and kick down a bit for some gas, then that might *ahem* make my decision a little easier.

I checked the National Weather Service's website. However, they said rain all weekend leading up to our 24 hour race, and it turned out to be a gorgeous weekend.

Living the dream.
Yeah, NWS is okay, but it's all forecasting. I take a look at several different sites and try to make my own best guess. I'm not claiming to be better than the weather guys, but I like to try and find a best case scenario as often as I can. The following chart from the NOAA website is also useful to keep in mind when reading forecasts.

PRECIPITATION PROBABILITY
The Probability of Precipitation (POP) is defined as the likelihood of occurrence (expressed as a percent) of a measurable amount of liquid precipitation (or the water equivalent of frozen precipitation) during a specified period of time at any given point in the forecast area. Measurable precipitation is equal to or greater than 0.01”. Unless specified otherwise, the time period is normally 12 hours. The forecast area, or zone, is generally considered to be a county. NWS forecasters use such categorical terms as occasional, intermittent, or periods of to describe a precipitation event that has a high probability of occurrence (80% +) but is expected to be of an “on and off” nature.
POP Percent Expression of Uncertainty Equivalent Area Qualifier (convective use only)
10 percent None used (Isolated / Few)
20 percent Slight chance (Widely scattered)
30, 40, & 50 percent Chance (Scattered)
60 & 70 percent Likely (Numerous or none used)
80, 90, & 100 percent None used
