And the brake is on the chainstay. On the devinci the swingarm is the seatstay, so I'm not sure that the split pivot would help braking at all?
The brake is mounted to the chainstay. On the devinci the swingarm is the seatstay, so I'm not sure that the split pivot would help braking at all?
The pinkbike reviewer seemed to think it helped. Certainly not going to hurt!I imagine it definitely helps, it's basically a floating brake but done as part of the frame/suspension design instead of as a bolt-on afterthought.
what the hell drugs do you smoke on a regular basis? outside of MAYBE the pivot location, and even that's a stretch, the bikes are nothing alike, besides they are single pivots. This looks pretty much identical to... :drumroll:
You mean the guy from the pinkbike/ devinici team? That reviewer? The pinkbike reviewer seemed to think it helped. Certainly not going to hurt!
especially at 7 in the morningwhat the hell drugs do you smoke on a regular basis? .
I never said they were built the same. I was just saying they look the same. Derp de derp derp derp.especially at 7 in the morning
lol, please explain to everyone here how you think that the 2 bikes look alike?...I never said they were built the same. I was just saying they look the same. Derp de derp derp derp.
in that case you would probably confuse snooki with rosie o'donnellI never said they were built the same. I was just saying they look the same. Derp de derp derp derp.
Technically it does because the caliper is moving forward, not backward.Something I just noticed:
On a trek, the main SWINGARM is the chainstay. The brake is on the seatstay, hence separated by the split pivot.
On the devinci the swingarm is the seatstay, so I'm not sure that the split pivot would help braking at all?
Fact: All fat people look the same.in that case you would probably confuse snooki with rosie o'donnell
they both do have two 26" wheels.I never said they were built the same. I was just saying they look the same.
What? "It does" what?Technically it does because the caliper is moving forward, not backward.
he's on the dunbar cycles team, not pinkbike devinci, and he doesn't ride a devinci. You mean the guy from the pinkbike/ devinici team? That reviewer?
Good point. At least we were all warned. A thread starting with "OMFG!" can only disappoint.you know things are bad when demo9 correctly uses a face palm
Clearly, nobody see's how the seat stay of the devinci looks like the swing arm of the mountain cycle. That was literally all i was pointing out.omfg, a Devinci that looks just like an Evil.
and costs $6700.
and that we already knew about during Interbike.
what's all the hoopla again?
lol, please explain to everyone here how you think that the 2 bikes look alike?...
The pot is calling the kettle black.Hah, as I was writing it I thought "I really should check where the brake is", but thought "nahhhh, I'm a certified dumbass, I don't need to do anything!". Whoops
i'm with stupid. If the frame comes in at a decent pricepoint, I could see it being a real contender. It's a bit heavy compared to other offerings but if it were cheap, I'd rock it.I wonder if a frame only option is available as the cheapest version is only $3799 as a complete, so the frame must be quite a bit cheaper than that.
It's a single pivot axle path - what's amazing about that?Southern Downhill - tested over a full weekend of racing in North Wales
You end up with a low ratio, single pivot bike, with a linkage actuated shock, but with an amazing axle path and better braking. Crikey.

ouch.. I was hoping that number was going to be a bit lower..The frameset is 2900$ CAD with Fox RC4.
EDIT: Choice of 3 colors (XP, SL, RC).
No, I don't think so. The lower link gives it a bit of a different path. Not much I suppose, but the devil is in the details isn't it?It's a single pivot axle path - what's amazing about that?
Crikey.
how? explain...The lower link gives it a bit of a different path.
As a karate expert, I am not allowed to judge anybody or anything.the truth sits on a throne of lies.
and yeah, he definetely has a bad eye for curves on bikes and fat chicks.
come on DW designed it! you should know better digi!ouch.. I was hoping that number was going to be a bit lower..
