it's weird - I was on the Progressive website only a few days ago and there was a new look to it with ZERO links to MTB and now it's back to how it was before, all MTB links active and the "old look" site back again...only glad I opted for the DHX5 on my new V10 :)
Someone at Progressive has been keeping an close eye on this thread ;)

When I called Yesterday I was told it would cost at least 100 and as much as 200 just to have it serviced.:mumble:

I'mm assuming all you I studs did not see the MOUNTAIN BIKE APPLICATIONS link center-right in bold print on the home page. Sounds like it was removed or something for a short while. Allways been there for me.

I sent in a shock for a customer today (3/16) and the lady said "we're not moving forward,or backward in our bicycle shock Buisness, just staying where we're at. We are still making shocks, just nothing new."

$100 for an out of warranty rebuild, fairly standard.

Agreed $100.00 is a fair and standard price, but I was told $100. was the minium it could cost and as much as $200 which was very open ended IMOA. 100 and I'd probably send it in, 200 and it's a paperweight.

The link was definately not there before. There was a new site up, it was absolutely horrendous.

$100 out of warranty is fine, during warranty is pretty bad.

I can also advise that Progressive has dropped there warranty in Canada as well.

I have a brand new Iron Horse 7.5 with a 5th Element that has a known valving issue and in the past could have been handled by the Progressive rep in Canada (Trident in Vancouver, BC).

But Progressive has pulled their warranty back into the US office meaning that I would be without a bike for 2-3 weeks to and have to ship ... or I could pony up about $125-$150 for the shock to be done locally as a service rebuild, what BS for a brand new shock.

What that really means is I am going to get a Roco and then try to get the 5th revalved and keep it as a backup or a paper weight.

It is too bad that a company that makes a good shock that has tons of adjustment and works well for the freeride application can not support their product. Trident, the local Progressive rep, stated that Progressive pulled their warranty back, but Progressive stated that the Trident no longer wants to do warranty. It likely comes down to Progressive wants Trident to do the warranty work for free.

If I can help it, I will have no Progressive shocks on any of my bikes as I don't like being held hostage.

Piss off in Vancouver.

PS: If any people from Progressive Suspension look at these boards and would care to set the record straight, I really do welcome their input.

One of my teammates sent in some progressive stuff for service (we always dealt directly when we were sponsored by them a few years ago as well). Shock turnaround was about 10 days including shipping normally. This may have changed.

We do the same with fox BTW - if it needs to be serviced, send it directly and have it done right.

I can't get over how utterly horrible that website is.
And you think they'd want to make sure that everything was spelled properly too. Guess not eh?

Oh got it, thread has been going on for ages.

Last i spoke to someone there, they were still doing plenty of OE. The warranty center who started all this is still listed as one of their official service centers as well.

Like I said then, I'll take the word of company employees over some random bike industry rumour mill on a message board any day.
